I actually think that Threads might do well, or at the very least I can see a lot of 'big' accounts (journalists, politicians, brands etc) jumping ship as they'll see it as a much more stable platform than Twitter currently is.
 
I agree, Zucc and his vile progeny has been far more damaging to society (what happened with that lawsuit about FB facilitating genocide in Burma?) but ultimately the big names will prefer someone who's learned to keep his mouth shut and continue badly impersonating a human being than Elon retweeting FBI crime statistics or whatever tip he ends up on next week.

Everything about that statement screamed business, commercialism, profitability and corporate strategy

So he bought Twitter for its customer base, a customer base who do not want this 'everything' app, especially when its overall security is so demonstrably SHIT. It's like buying HMV because you want to sell cars.

I think it’s time to leave. I will miss it but think how much free time I will get back.
