Liberal Conservatives have been switching to Lib Dem, so even if there’s a swing away from Labour, Cons might lose votes overall. Actually hilarious.

South West which I presume is an area you're referring to, has just gone to Khan, with a positive swing.

This is actually a fascinating thing to look at nationally, and should set off alarm bells for the Tories. If they’re losing votes on the right to Reform, and centrists to LD, it puts the really wild projections into play… sub-100 seat territory. Hahahahahaha
 
Also the plot to impose FPTP has backfired spectacularly. It helps Labour massively not to have to deal with the Green first preference votes that would have raised questions. I wonder if they’ll keep it.
 
John Curtice seems to think this is the first time the LDs have come second in a local election. The Tories look like they'll finish third. He also says the Tories lost most votes in places they were most popular, which is devastating for them with FPTP.
 
The gerrymandering appears to have flopped on all counts. It's hard to assess the impact of Photo ID especially with suspicions that Johnson turning up without his was a stunt to steer the conversation away from that.
 
As someone pointed out (I think it was News Agents), that there are plenty of Tories without ID, old people, rural folk, and former Prime Ministers.
 
Oh good. I was fearing all this would end without another Tory psychodrama. I assume the letters of no confidence will duly follow if we get an Andy Street-Susan Hall defeat in quick succession.
