I realise the Wiltshire PCC election will be of little interest to anyone, but it was the only one I got to vote in this time - these results are insane in a county where Labour has never had any presence outside of Swindon! Tories definitely would’ve lost had they kept the single transferable vote system of last time’s PCC election. Ideally Labour and the Lib Dems would come to an electoral pact in the west, I’m convinced LD would win almost all the constituencies locally in that case.

 
I'm sure it's just a coincidence that not living in London is cheaper, and Wootton and Fox DON'T REALLY HAVE JOBS ANYMORE

Absolutely here for Britain's worst wankers having total meltdowns. A bunch of shrieking grifters who know that their gravy train is crashing into a wall and are desperately trying to paint a Wile E Coyote style tunnel onto it in the hope that it'll just ride on through.
 
While I’m here for plenty of gammony meltdowns I get very frustrated at these people freely accusing Khan of being responsible for London’s problems with no mention whatsoever of the responsibility of the Tory government and the state of the economy and lack of funding for basic services, and THAT impact on London’s problems. There’s always a twisted narrative and that why people who follow these people won’t ever open their minds.

Classic Tory. It's always the same with them; they claim that everything they've done has been right and it's everyone else's fault that it didn't work out. Look at their narratives over Brexit, it's all "The EU are punishing us!" and not "we're now subject to the same conditions as all other non-members" - everything would be FINE the EU had just given the UK all the benefits of membership for free. They're like the villains in Scooby Doo, they'd have gotten away with it if it hadn't been for literally everyone else except them. Every easily foreseeable consequence of their actions is because someone else didn't do their bit. They're just con artists.
 
Andy Street ahead by 11,455 votes in the West Midlands, with one result left to declare. I fear it'll be a narrow but nonetheles smug Tory victory.
 
ITV suggesting Parker might have won West Midlands for Labour. :o

Beth Rigby just confirmed it on Sky News as well.

 
I feel like I've asked this before but can't remember, but why is voting done in such a manual way? Why do we not just submit electronically so it's automatically counted?

No. There might be another leadership challenge if enough Tory MPs submit letters of no confidence in Rishi Sunak because, very clearly, his vision for the party hasn't connected with voters. But all that will do is install another leader.

The likelihood is the Tories are just going to dig in for as long as possible in the hope that something will change. And, I suspect, they think that thing is the Rwanda deal. Until flights have taken off and it still doesn't change a single thing about how much people despise them, I don't think they're going anywhere.
 
I suspect most Tory MPs are resigned to the fate of the party.

They're only clinging on because Sunak doesn't want to be an 18 month PM.
 
The weirdest delusion is that several of them are convinced they're losing because they're not right wing enough.

Electronic voting has so many potential security risks. Is it online? Then Russia could hack it from abroad. Does it have usb slots? Someone could plug something in. Who made the programme? How was it tested? Can the public check for themselves?

Paper ballots are easy to understand, and hard to influence at scale. The only scandals we've ever really had in the UK are postal votes, and even then, the numbers would struggle to change outcomes. It's not worth the money investing in an electronic solution when it will struggle to beat paper on anything other than counting time.

And this is why we'll be hearing from Reform over and over again because they're seen as taking Tory votes whereas the Lib Dems have probably taken just as many and actually have seats to show for it. The Green Party have taken, what is it, 70+ more seats, about 180 in total but we'll hear nothing because they're not seen as the government's "competition". If they were worried about policy not landing, this is where they would look for answers. But because they're a shower of sociopathic, witless shills, they won't.
 
It really is the cherry on the cake. It seemed so unlikely coming into this, so it's a real treat, and the painful kick in Rishi Sunak's no doubt tiny balls, that he absolutely deserves.
 
The really disgusting thing is that the only reason they won't go to the polls is because they want someone, ANYONE, forcibly departed to Rwanda first. They want that authoritarian act of performative cruelty done before they go to the country, as if to say "Now do you believe us?". I wish every single one of them unutterable harm, except it won;t happen because Sunak will just blow to dust of his US passport and go and consult to oil companies or whoever else is daft enough to pay him for his idiotic bullshit.
