While we wait for Enya to get her writing cloak on and give us some new ethereal bangers, let's take a deep dive into her extensive back catalogue.

Written for the soundtrack to a BBC documentary series about (you guessed it) the Celts.

I like how synthy it is. Before delving in to her work I wasn't expecting her music to be so electronic. Some of the songs would make absolutely banging additions to a Playstation RPG soundtrack.

What are your highlights from this early Enya album? What are your lowlights? Does it make you want to paint yourself blue and burn Colchester to the ground?

Like Boudica ๐Ÿ˜…
Enya's piece Boadicea is now legendary, of course ๐ŸŒ ๐ŸŽต

I Want Tomorrow is the only single you won't see on the enyatv channel; Enya laughs at her role (when asked in the Reddit AMA about it) anyway ๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿš—๐Ÿ”ฅ

I also like this Enya/The Celts album quite a lot, probably my 3rd favourite of hers overall. ๐ŸŽผ๐ŸŽน

Besides the fiery nature of I Want Tomorrow, and fierce Boadicea, I particularly like Triad (the first piece St. Patrick๐Ÿ€and the last one Oisรญn ๐ŸฆŒ The middle one, Cรบ Chulainn... I prefer when it was Seaside Ditty (unreleased track, early version)

This features the unreleased/non-album tracks :disco:

Recently there's been this elimination game on Reddit (though @Haiku Rewrites has much better games exclusive to Moopy ๐Ÿคฉ) for The Celts.
It's also on the last 3 songs (but all rounds are upvote comments to evict, downvote to help save). ๐Ÿ˜…

As much as I like real Celts, The Celts (song) ought to go. Aldebaran is more original -
Enya is not the Lady of Shalott, she is one of the brightest Taurean stars. ๐ŸŒŸ

I Want Tomorrow going first was surely a misunderstanding of the game..!

Anyway, the last 3 are The Celts, Triad (St Patrick/Cรบ Chulainn/Oisรญn) and the legendary Boadicea. :disco:

A decent cover of the Seaside Ditty instrumental piece, perhaps fitting for the weather. ๐Ÿ˜Šโ›ฑ๏ธ๐Ÿ”†

Also this version of Triad featuring the above

๐Ÿค—๐ŸŽถ๐Ÿช„

I only just realised this now (not sure how long they've existed) but on Spotify there's these videos with narration

This begins with Boadicea :disco: and The Celts

I'm guessing this is from 1992 promotion. If it were newer/for streaming I'd rather Enya have been doing the voiceover, like 'Hey, I'm Enya and you can listen to my tracks from [single/album release] right here.
:enya:
(then again the physical media's better :disco: ๐ŸŽถ ๐Ÿ’ฟ)

I wish Enya did some reversed vocals again (within the track) โ˜บ๏ธ

March of the Celts begins reversed, and Eclipse (not the Eurovision song from about 40 years later :D) is Deireadh an Tuath played backwards. โช ๐Ÿช„

A reimagined I Want Tomorrow where Enya puts the fire out instead (and the song becomes 'fire' in other ways ๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ”ฅ๐ŸŽถ)

Sometimes I think this is my second favourite Enya album (which is generally A Day Without Rain). I'd love some kind of extended anniversary version (that isn't just a vinyl re-release) with the unreleased tracks :disco: ๐ŸŽถ๐Ÿ’ฟ

It's my least favourite Enya album ALONG WITH ALL THE REST

The Sun In The Stream vaguely gives 'heatwave song' โ˜บ๏ธ๐Ÿ”† (someone else pointed out the main Uillean pipes tune sounds like May It Be ๐Ÿฉต)
