having my first proper Madge moment in ages and after RoL I've tracked back to Erotica. an ALBUM. incredible moodpiece, definitely her most cohesive work front to back and maybe her record with the least filler.

Erotica IS her fine wine album. From the back of the pack to now competing with her best for me. The richness of the production is just stunning. She handles all the club references perfectly - nothing is cliché, nothing feels diluted. It’s a tribute to a lot of sounds and yet it still feels cutting edge for the time and crucially, hasn’t really aged. Some questionable lyrics here and there yes but it’s house music not folk music. It’s allowed.
