She's from a Russian family but speaks fluent Estonian (unlike many Russians here :eyes:) and said she has family in Ukraine. From what I've seen it doesn't look like she's worshipping Putin.

Elysa's Stig Rästa written song shows promise but the chorus doesn't quite get there.

 
I'll do a little roundup of the standouts, but all in all a decent selection and better than Ukraine's I think - well done Estonia!
 
ALIKA - actually very nice, I don't normally like this kind of entry but it's a good type of boring ballad. Very Delta Goodrem

Andreas - oh not an Ed Sheeran entry. Cheesy and a bit boring but not totally detestable. Still, no thanks. You just know they'll have interpretive dancers for this one.

Annett x Fredi - Well this one's a bit of a vibe isn't it? Not very Eurovision-y but quite pleasant and nice vocals. Yes, I really quite like this actually

Bedwetters - S&M vibes? Oh, a beat! :o Quite like it though it does remind me a bit of Rockstars but better, with a bit of Jezabelle... It could be good with an EPIC live performance but from the video I'm not sure they have the personality for that. Might be one for @Brandy Butters?

Carlos Ukareda - Oh no this is really bad. KILL IT WITH FIRE

ELLIP - This reminds me of I'm Not Madonna :D quite funky but she's giving me Anastacia vibes and I'm not living for that. Pretty terrible to be honest.

ELYSA - OH HELLO SYNTH POP. So formulaic, so fabulous. Very Hero. Totally won't get past the first round.

INGER - Why does everyone have an upper case name? How old is he and is it okay to find him kind of cute? His voice takes a bit of getting used to (he has a Kermit the Frog tone) but the song is pretty solid. Yes I really like this one! Think it's my favourite so far.

Janek - finally a normally-stylised name. Oh he's very EARNEST. A bit Joe McElderry. Not really my thing but it's good at what it's trying to achieve. Good for mums. Oh wait there is a synthy beat suddenly! Mums INSTANTLY turned off. It's become a bit Hurts-y and is instantly better. This could actually be quite the grower. Into it by the end! I think @Pingu might enjoy this one?

kaw - Sounds like a not very good foreign language ASFM entry. It's fine I guess. Monotonous.

Linalakk, Bonzo - What the FUCK is this? I am going to vomit

m els - terrible artist name. Has a bit of a Junior Eurovision vibe to the song. Quite a cute song, doesn't really stand out but enjoyable. Yes actually by the end I'm enjoying this quite a bit.

Meelik - No. Will probably win.

MERLYN - Obviously absolutely fabulous, Gamble WISHES she got this song :D

MIA - We really are back to the upper case names again aren't we. Okay this has something. She's a little bit off-putting in the video... I want this to be bigger than it is. Giving me Vanessa Carlton meets Vanessa Amarosi

Neon Letters - A Diddy ASFM entry? :o Quite nice. Bit of an outlier. Makes me feel a bit warm inside, but that might be because I need a loo break

OLLIE - The songwriting sounds quite lazy on this one. This is the Rockstars. Not for me, sorry Olls - it does build up by the end and I do like that bit but it takes too long to get there.

Robin Julhental - bit unusual. Almost experimental. Not quite sure what to make of it! Where's the BIG POP CHORUS?

SISSI - is that Annie Lennox on vocals? This could do well though it's giving me Australia 2020 vibes so maybe not. I do like it. I want a little more from it but I think it's a grower.

WIIRALT - let's forget this is an entry and pretend it ended with SISSI.
 
So I think my keepers after one listen are INGER, Janek, Annett x Fredi, SISSI and of course MERLYN. ALIKA also good if you like Delta Goodrem and yes I can see it winning
 
Sometimes it’s so difficult to tell if you lot are doing satire or not. Anyway Merlyn peaked with this Sven Lõhmus banger. And I mean banger.

 
Bridges reminds me of One Last Breath (Greece 2015). Fine, but ultimately nothing special and would be total filler at Eurovision.
