For any girlies STILL LOOKING I've noticed a lot of accommodation is starting to CREEP DOWN in price daily now as people trying to charge £4000 for a Eurovision week rental are quietly panicking that they still haven't had a booking :D
Prices are still stupid, but less-so than a few weeks back.

No offence meant to any Scousers on here, but I've never had to do so much accommodation RESEARCH before as I have booking in Liverpool :D

Not only is there the Eurovision demand, but there's the ongoing hellish triple-threat of HEN PARTY BOOKINGS, BEATLES TOURISTS and FOOTBALL/SPORT FANS who are all big LOUD groups that you could quite potentially end up sharing accommodation buildings with :D The amount of reviews for hotels/airbnbs that are basically "Yeah room was lovely, but I had three different hen parties staying within 100 metres of the property so didn't get a wink of sleep all night" :):)"
I've never in my life seen SO MUCH crushed velvet furniture too??

Special shout out to this particular HORROR SHOW of a HOTEL:

Surely most of the Beatles tourists/hen parties will have been put off by the massive prices for this weekend, unless a select few prebooked 9-12 months in advance?

(think I remember seeing a football match will be on during the week but can't remember when/where)

I realise those interiors are bad, but if you don’t want to stay in @funky‘s spare room then you don’t have to.

I think I’ve heard of that hotel, it’s aimed at hen parties. It looks HORRIFIC.

Also last thought on Liverpool accommodation as not to completely hijak this topic, but COMPLETELY obsessed with the infamous Adelphi Hotel - specifically the reviews of it? :D
A scattering from google:

The place is a disaster, I wouldn't have my dog stay here, you're lucky if the heating works, light bulbs are an optional extra.
The greatest part of the hotel and I'm not even joking, there's a lovely homeless man, that stands outside, greets everyone and offers advice on where to go, he's actually genuinely lovely.
There's a dingy bar, which is poorly lit and appears to be popular with people of the age of 60+ if that's your thing.
But I'd rather sleep in a bus shelter, there's less chance of catching Hep B

We had a standard room and as we went in found toe nails and holes in wall so asked for a different room staff kindly upgraded us to a suit which was worse had yellow water and poo on walls and blood on door handles. We discovered a girl had been killed from poorly fitted furniture and it is a very haunted hotel which made us feel uneasy don’t recommend horrid

The manager is much like the hotel, cheap and nasty. Don’t stay here unless you want your things stolen.

It's all quite sad actually, as it's a beautiful building and the ground floor reception looks genuinely impressive. I hope nobody on here has booked a week's stay though :)

We managed to get an apartment on Lord street last night for £900 between 3 of us

We had two different hotels before the change costing about £1200 so much better now

Still crazy prices of course

Every Britannia hotel is like this. The Adelphi is probably just the most famous one.

£300 each? For how many nights? That sounds very cheap

Prices have apparently started coming right down now people largely know if they've got tickets or not, those who haven't have cancelled, and all those who tried having gouge prices have started panicking and realising they might end up getting nothing if they keep them that high.

I had decided I wasn’t going but I’m TOTALLY going to be online at 12 on Monday. ARRRRGH!

@funky are there any nice bars with outdoor/rooftop seating you'd recommend?

Not many. The best is Matou (Asian restaurant with a huge fuck off terrace)!but that’s right in the middle of where the village is going I think, and so has probably been swallowed by the festivities - I imagine it’s impossible to book but if you’re looking for a dinner reservations you can do worse than book there and then just stay up there and soak up the atmosphere from above.

There’s also the Mercure hotel which has a terrace bar, it is nothing special whatsoever but is well situated overlooking the strand which runs along the riverside, very close to the village.

Also close by is the James Street Hotel which has a gorgeous rooftop bar but it’s only small and I’m not sure it takes bookings - probably very unreliable on Eurovision week save only for it being a bit of a hidden gem.

I’ll see if I can remember any others, I’m not as on top of Liverpool’s new places as I once was

That was inevitable wasn’t it. If Air BnB touts fail to fill their spaces because they gouged the prices then they deserve it

I used to enjoy Bistrot Pierre and it’s sister restaurant (totally forgot it’s name)

I’ll probably try and get a kimos kebab at some point if I can

Bear in mind a normal weekend hotel in Liverpool would be £100+ for a 3* and £200-£300+ for a 4*, and double that for Liverpool home games, so if anyone is now paying less than that for Eurovision you’ve done fucking well.

Has Eurovision released a map of the village and festivities? I’m curious how the surrounding venues are going to adapt.
