Eurovision Asia Song Contest 2026 (ALLEGEDLY HAPPENING IN NOVEMBER) (1 Viewer)

Random question: has the poster formerly known as Robotboy authored a book on Eurovision?

Happened to tune in for the last part of the Filipino national final seemingly hosted by a drag queen who instructed a terrified-looking jury member to sum up the evening but snapping that she must start her answer with “I believe” and then when she fumbled rolled her eyes and said “do you need to call a friend?” :D Judging from the recap there was an almost Albanian amount of wailing

Korea’s choice isn’t particularly whelming or original or Korean:

I see the ubiquitous AleXa has got in as one of the writers on that Korean entry.

Bangladesh have an acapella group

And in one of those "isn't that a strange coincidence" moments, Mongolia's internally selected act happens to be "advisor to the Deputy Prime Minister of the country." :eyes:

All entries have now been chosen

The initial Mongolian entry was disqualified for being released in 2018, so they’ve managed a bit of drama already

This... probably isn't going to go well.

I feel like there is (was?) potential with this but the warning signs were already there when all the countries were given identikit national final formats/branding and there doesn’t seem to have been any real attempt to build interest in the run up. They’re lucky that the Filipinos have got on board with their entry to some extent which is driving some traffic at least

And yet, inexplicably, the paedo spinoff survives. We didn’t even get a break from JESC in 2020.

An EBU statement. I apologise for the hideous font - I presume Björkman designed it.
