Eurovision Rewatch: A Song For Europe 1981 (22:30 BST 17/04)

The VHS distortion on their final flourish really gave this a chilling motif right at the end.

poor Jay. She hadn't even started fucking the manager's husband yet.

my YouTube has run straight on into A Song For Europe 1991.

It's a struggle turning it off

We could do 1997. It's only half an hour so doesn't really work for a late night rewatch as it would barely take the edge off the DTs.

We need to rewatch 2005 at some point, I remember Ruslana being very weird.

I didn't realise we still had A Song For Europe then. :o

I seem to remember our Eurovision selection being tacked onto the end of Top of the Tops in the late 90s.

Oh it was but in 1999.

Sister Sway and Precious were a real SOPHIE'S CHOICE that year.

It is, but I think it's too short to work as a planned late night rewatch. If the ruling is to leave it alone then I'm fine with that.

I know we have the timetable and all, but it's fine to go with anything not on
It, isn't it?

I'm up for a short one

for sure, I just think as long as it’s not an actual Eurovision or something somebody had requested!

Who is up for another one, then? I think there ought to be a few of us to make it worthwhile.

A Song For Europe 1991 is an hour long. Mentioned only as I have it lined up. Happy to go with anyone else.

One of the worst ever 2002 sits expectantly. Claire Sweeney and Tricia Penrose
