Playlist 1 of 3: Iguana says "I'M COMING OUT"
I was 17 and hadn’t yet come out to one of my friends. She wanted me to meet her new boyfriend, Sam, so we met up at the beach in Brighton (my hometown). Sam was a pretentious punk prick. I tried to get on his good side by professing my love for Patti Smith, but to no avail. Sam did not like me. I had something of an advantage as I was on home turf and he wasn’t from Brighton, so I tried to be a good host but I quickly felt like an unwanted third wheel. At one stage I got my friend a drink – she remembers it as a hot chocolate, I think it was a coffee – and he hit the roof, saying he was more than capable of getting a drink for his girlfriend. Jealous prick.
My friend tried to put Sam’s mind at ease by blurting out that I was gay, thinking I wasn’t but that Sam would be happier if I was. She carried this on in a rather indelicate way and it made me want to say something but it became a bit of a joke. I cared what she thought of me and didn’t like that she didn’t know everything about me. Finally, when she made another joke about me being gay, my response was, “Well, actually…”. Ultimately it did wonders for our friendship and we felt free to speak openly to each other about everything. 15+ years later, that is still the case!
Sam was quickly ditched. What a prick.

is the Kylie song one of the new ones? it's a pretty good song but I will never warm to her cold vocals. and poor Amy Winehouse, I love that song but it sounds like a SNL sketch
