aka the 'I woke up today and chose Fiona Apple thread.'
I often feel that I sleep (to dream) on this album when it comes to her repertoire. Of course it was my introduction to her, and I still remember playing the album the very first time (on cassette!) in my tiny bedroom and pretty much weeping to 'Never Is A Promise.' I rarely go to it though when I need a Fiona fix. It's very raw. Like Little Earthquakes, I suppose.

Anyway.

Wonderful album, Never Is A Promise is essential, however, I came in with her with ‘When The Pawn…’ which remains my favourite.

I love every Fiona album and this is no exception. A great record for when you're feeling DOUR.
