FIRST IMPRESSION FESTIVALEN 2021
THE REVEAL of our third batch of Mello 2021 artists is here #ingetstopparmello #melfest.
Judge them by how they make you tingle down there. How they look, present and anything else you find suitable about THE REVEAL. What's your HYPE lvl?
Now we have a full rooster and all that's left is to allocate 12, 10, 8, 6, 4, 2, and four goose eggs to the following entries:
Slap #1 - The Mamas "In The Middle"
Songwriters: Emily Falvey, Robin Stjernberg, Jimmy Jansson
“This year has been so overwhelming and we didn’t plan on participating again next year. But we were in the studio with Robin Stjernberg finishing up our EP when he played the song for us. We really liked it and wanted to add our vocals to it. When we did that we just felt magic. It was so emotional and we cried. We felt we had to do Melodifestivalen again!
It would be awesome if we make it to the final again and be able to perform our song several times. The most important thing for us however is that people will connect with our song and like it. We hope that the words we sing will pierce every heart that hears it, in a good way! With this song, we really want people to know that they are loved immensely!” - eurovision.tv

Slap #2 - Jessica Andersson "Horizon"
Songwriters: David Kreuger, Fredrik Kempe, Marcus Lidén, Christian Holmström
“I’ve always been a hardcore fan of Melodifestivalen and even when I sometimes feel that maybe people get tired of seeing me there it’s really hard to say no when you hear a song as good as Horizon. Even to this day it’s hard for me to understand that I’ve actually won Melodifestivalen once. It has been surreal to say the least. I think if you compare it with today I’m more self confident now and it’s more important for me to get my own ideas across. I’m more involved in my stage performance and I’ve been more involved with the song” - eurovision.tv
Slap #3 - Sannex "All Inclusive"
Songwriters: Greta Svensson, Hans Thorstensson
Slap #4 - Clara Klingenström "Behöver inte dig idag"
Transl: "Don't need you today"
Songwriters: Clara Klingenström, Bobby Ljunggren, David Lindgren Zacharias
Slap #5 - Efraim Leo "Best Of Me"
Songwriters: Efraim Leo, Cornelia Jakobsdotter, Amanda Björkegren, Herman Gardarfve
Slap #6 - Tusse "Voices"
Songwriters: Joy Deb, Linnea Deb, Jimmy "Joker" Thörnfeldt, Anderz Wrethov
Slap #7 - Julia 'P4 Nasta' Alfrida "Rich"
Songwriters: Julia Alfrida, Jimmy Jansson, Melanie Wehbe
Slap #8 - Alvaro Estrella "Baila Baila"
Transl: "Dance Dance"
Songwriters: Anderz Wrethov, Linnea Deb, Jimmy "Joker" Thörnfeldt
Slap #9 - Klara Hammarström "Beat Of Broken Hearts"
Songwriters: David Kreuger, Fredrik Kempe, Niklas Carson Mattson, Andreas Wijk
Slap #10 - Eric Saade "Every Minute"
Songwriters: Eric Saade, Linnea Deb, Joy Deb, Jimmy "Joker" Thörnfeldt
Saade: I'm here for Björkman's sake
"- I want Sweden to win Eurovision now that it is Christer's last year"
- I join out of pure love for the music and this program. And out of love for Christer Björkman who gave me the chance very early and has been a big part of my career. I want Sweden to win Eurovision now that it is Christer's last year.
And that is the reason why Eric Saade, 30, is performing at the Melodifestivalen again.
- I had promised him that I would do it again before he quits. Now it's 10 year anniversary also since I won in 2011 so it's also a good fit.
- When I was 19-20 winning was all that mattered to me but that's not the way it is for me now. If it is my song that has the best chance, I want it to go to ESC and if it is another song, it should go. Christer must end up at the top, and I think we all feel that. The only thing I feel is that I want it to be a very good competition. I want the best artists to be there because I love this program so much.
About his entry 'Every Minute'
- The song is a euphoric addictive and quite sexy song I think. Which has a little darkness in it. I wrote it during a period in my life that had been quite boring and dark in corona quarantine at the same time as the whole year felt crap. Then something happened this summer and I had one of the best summers of my life, so I wrote it when everything was at its best.” - Aftonbladet
