Tiktok told me a fun fact yesterday that the only team in the top four leagues to have not had anything to celebrate (promotion, cup, league) this century are Everton. Poor Everton.

Well, football gang, not only did Pompey secure their place in the championship last night despite a 5-1 defeat (bye bye Leicester etc. etc.) but also, work today was really quite good fun…

In all of the Everton things to be Everton, that's possibly the most Everton thing yet.
 
damn Forest are absolutely mauling Sunderland. 35 mins in and some fans are already leaving :D

If it does happen, does that leave only 4 teams from the foundation of the Premier League that have never been relegated to go down - Liverpool, Everton, United, The Arse - am I missing anyone?
 
I don't think Chelsea have been relegated since the inception of the Premier League have they?

I see Rochdale and York have both issued a joint statement highlighting how ABSURD it is that one of them may not get promoted.

It's difficult to argue. The "quality gap" between the two divisions doesn't really justify halving the promotion/relegation spots most others have. Not helped by the stupid number of play-offs the National League have. York could very feasibly miss out in favour of 7th placed Forest Green with 25 fewer points.

Should have that worst case happen, I hope it gives the Championship clubs pause for thought, whilst they merrily wander into the same situation.

I cut into my birthday cake today, pretended to make a wish, and west ham scored at that very moment. What does THAT say! (Apart from happy very belated birthday to me 🎉)

Also watched our VERY LOCAL team today who had a chance to get promoted from the NATIONAL LEAGUE SOUTH (or whatever it is) but messed it up by not scoring any goals. Good lark though. A bit too many F's and C's for child Tisch but he seemed to not notice and had a lovely time.

Sorry moopy we might be raising a FOOTBALL BOY :sugar:

I can't remember the exact stat, but no National League promoted team has been relegated the following season for about 20 years. And many of them go straight to League 1. There's a bottleneck there that needs sorting.
 
Trying very hard not to get carried away but I have had a tentative glance at flights to instanbul.
 
I'm rather PLEASED to see Wrexham miss out on the play offs

Normally I'm one for a small town underdog, but I also like the idea of Hollywood NOT being able to just buy the Premier League

we've fucking done it girls :disco: and that was as thrilling a 1-0 to the arsenal as I've seen in time. I wasn't even nervous.
