Friday (featuring So Solid Crew, Sinitta and Vanilla Ice)

Friday (I’m In Love) with the idea of a long weekend because I’m seeing Post Malone Sunday and off work Monday

Ooh I've discovered I like Post Malone recently.

And Teddy Swims.

Also, McBusted are touring next year 😍

I am 40 today :DianeRoss:

Welcome to the club! On the menu this decade we have a selection of back problems, a course of increased anxiety, a wider range of reasons to hate humans, and the Special is a constant battle between FOMO and a reluctance to leave the house.

Enjoy!

All sadly true

But I can say that by your 50s, the FOMO wears off. Or at least you only worry about missing out on the possibility of another night on the sofa in your pants, occasionally fiddling with yourself.

The "FOMO vs laziness/acceptance that you don't need to be out all the time" is the most frustrating part of your 40s. It's like a battle between your young self and new older self and of course I know who wins. I am very much looking to it :D

There really should be some sort of life course for people turning 40. You could make a fortune. The fact that nobody and nothing prepares us for the simple act of "not being young anymore" is bizarre. It's the most profound thing that has ever happened to me.

Had my flu jab and my Covid jab, both in the same arm despite nursey's reluctance to do it. There's no medical reason to have them in different arms other than "we don't like to put them in the same arm".

I think that that is mainly a single and childless person's problem. I barely noticed turning forty because I was still running around like a blue-arsed fly after spawn and Mr F.

Yeah, I was still a bit "I'M STILL YOUNG" in my early 40s but now I'm in my 50s, it has worn off and I am fine with being older. The desire to be getting poured out of some sweaty BIN of a venue at 3am completely wore off several years ago.

I didn't really get it at 40 either. If I experienced similar, it was a few years earlier.

But then I've always said that having a partner several years older than you is good in terms of your own sense of age, as after being initially horrified by his age, by the time it rolls around for me, I've accepted it. And he's only a few years away from the next milestone.

I wasn’t planning on getting drunk tonight but at the afterwork event
there’s been a slight misuse of ”the substance”
and I might as well go all the way.

Omg this is so true!!

I've just had an email from work saying it's National Coming Out day. Can't believe none of you remembered :o

Haven't you just BOUGHT KYLIE TICKETS?

More gay than SITTING ON COCK

I really don’t buy into this bullshit. Stop believing your life changes at some arbitrary age because society conditions you to. I’m as fit as I’ve ever been, wiser than I’ve ever been, find time to party enough to keep me happy and nothing aches. Being in my 40s is great.

I was meant to be going out tonight but have JANCELLED in favour of catching up with Bake Off and a bottle of wine or 2 in my nice warm house. It’s bloody FREEZING outside so I am locking the door and throwing away the key this weekend. HIBERNATING UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.
