Morning dears!

Office Christmas party (well, nice dinner out) tonight and the first time all my team will be in the same place. Rather than dreading “putting on a brave face” for it, I’m kinda excited for once. (And oddly proud at creating a business that needs an office party!)
 
To be fair, two of the staff are people I knew before employing them and know me well enough and have joined me in drunken shenanigans, so that shouldn’t be an issue. The rest should be fine- they’re (mostly) stupidly young.

I just need to keep my eyes off the three bags of TOOT I have hiding in the flat for festive emergencies.
 
Off to a Christmas party this evening too.

Well I'm taking not one but two dishes. And one of them is Nigella's Girdlebuster Pie.

Same. Ours have managed to book a party area within the casino in Westfield. “Dress to impress” is the theme, and the majority of people going are now at least 10 years younger than me. Could NOT be arsed in the slightest.

I went out for a fancy curry last week with my close work friends instead.
 
Our work do as well. I'm curious, as it's being held in an art gallery. But no, I can't face it.

You KNOW what my advice is...
 
I'm now lurgy free, but that means all the stuff I was putting off as a result needs doing yesterday. Plus I need to smoke a brisket for the food I'm cooking for 18 tomorrow.

I really just want to wrap up for Christmas now. WUH.
 
My work do tonight as well. There’s about SIXTY of us going on a pub crawl.
 
We had ours this week and it went very smoothly. Then we have our office secret santa and Christmas quiz on Monday, with pizza. :disco:
 
It’s my last day in the office but the do isn’t until next Thursday so I still have to see everyone.

Thankfully I don't have do deal with such horrors, although the invigilator team keep trying to arrange something and are desperate for me to come. I am not desperate to attend.
 
I have one last gift to purchase for my brother. I've never been to his house, he has to fly home with it and I got him a book last year. I'm kinda stumped.

Genuinely thinking of getting him the Boris Johnson parody book, in lieu of anything else. Everyone else I've absolutely nailed this year.
 
Our works Christmas do is in January, a tradition that started just before the pandemic hit.

We still have a Christmas lunch at work though, but it's just a nice fancy fuddle. :bruised:
 
Sorry I forgot to add the takeaway we'll eat from the boxes no doubt in the store before we leave.
 
I stupidly hoped I wouldn't still be needing to make fudge this close to Christmas. I was wrong
 
Ooh the fudge Christmas party is next Saturday. Drinks followed by dinner followed by drinks in Cowes.

I've never done an escape room and if I don't by the time they become deeply unfashionable, I'll have no regrets.
 
I booked myself a cheeky wee day off for today. I have taken delivery of some LPs, a double CDR because it's 2006 and a Cold War Steve subscribers badge, said sub being a Xmas prezzie from an amazing friend. I;m listening to Glenn Gould playing Bach and feeling really quite relaxed.
 
Luckily I get to pick the venue for the party so it’s a classy affair at a Japanese jazz bar.

I'd be very suspicious of the order of events here. It's screaming that the boots came first.

I’m sure you’ll have a lovely time, but if one of your colleagues had come on here and said they were being forced to go to a wanky Japanese jazz bar which charges £9 for a bottle of lager, I’d be sending them a care react.
