Friday ignores a PM from Kala

I've woken with a rough chest this morning. Had to use my inhaler a couple of times during the night so I've decided that I won't be doing much work today either. Obviously I'll log on to the office and keep on top of my emails and other necessary Friday jobs but that big box of VAT paperwork is staying in my car boot until tomorrow I think, just in case there's virus on it.

Are you booking a test just to be on the safe side?

I work in health centres exclusively currently, and still haven't been offered a test.

I literally don't even know what that competition is about. The size of thread is putting me off. But I think I'm allowed to say I was number 23?

NO, quick edit out we can forget this ever happened.:o

I am getting my 25% uber discount though. Can't wait to use that to go to the supermarket.

Not on your bloody nelly! The only time anybody'll get to stick a swab up my nose or down the back of my throat is when I'm sedated on a ventilator in the back of an ambulance!

It's just a normal occurrence for my chest, bit of rest and plenty of whaps on the inhalers and I'll be reet again.

You have to do the swab yourself, so as long as you don't mind being sat in a stadium car park with a cotton bud dangling out of your nose you'll be alright.
I suppose since you're working from home anyway you're not under orders to have a test done - I was sent home until I get the results.

MORNING

So in today's overachieving news, I got to the supermarket for 6am to do my weekly shop, did one for my Mum too, went to a second shop as they didn't have everything in the first, visited my Mum (from the doorstep), have got a sourdough loaf proving, have whipped up a load of cupcakes to give to a friend who got a partnership in her law firm this week, have done two loads of washing and am about to start a curry.

I've almost ENTIRELY forgotten I'm supposed to be working :D

GIVE OVER

Who did the tags?

I like one more than the other. GUESS WHICH? :D

I did the washing up and have come back to bed with a coffee. Need to go food shopping, but that shit can wait another half an hour.

In that case there's fuckall chance of me sticking a swab into my own nasal cavity! I also have a very sensitive gag-reflex so the throat is a no-go.

My boss was making noises yesterday saying how she thinks it's all stupid and the lockdown should be lifted and we should all be back in work and all the while she kept peppering her statements with "I know you're in that supposed high-risk group, and I understand why you're doing it but ...". Got the feeling she wanted me to say I'd start going back into the office soon but it ain't happening, I'm happy to go in and pick stuff up to bring home to do but I won't be going back until at least my 12 weeks is up.

They shouldn't be applying any pressure for you to go back in at all. One of my colleagues has a son with Cystic Fibrosis - there were ovations about getting him back in because 'there's nothing wrong with him...', but they got shut down pretty quickly.
