Don't forget to try Bacchus bar!I'm off to Birmingham for the weekend. Mandy got tickets to see Katy Perry and I'm not very excited about it.
We wanted to do it last time but ran out of time so will do it this weekend.Don't forget to try Bacchus bar!
It's quite useful for concerts tho. We've been a few times, I don't mind it that much. But we try to avoid the city centre as much as possible.Birmingham is a DUMP.
Yes I've been to some canal areas and it is nice! I mean I wouldn't choose to live there, but it does have some pretty ish parts. But I very much look for areas of nature wherever I am.There's a nice-ish bit of Birmingham near some canals. I appreciate 'near some canals' doesn't whittle it down much, but 'nice-ish bit of Birmingham' does.
Is that Brindley Place? Very close to the Utilita arena. It's very convenient for concerts - New St Station is only a short walk away. There's a nice-ish bit of Birmingham near some canals. I appreciate 'near some canals' doesn't whittle it down much, but 'nice-ish bit of Birmingham' does.
That's one thing I don't like about it. I'm sure there are lovelier, leafy areas of it, but when you're in the centre of it, you feel surrounded by concrete. I've wandered around centrally there quite a few times and never seen a decent park. And the fact that there still seems to be an awful lot of construction going on doesn't help.Yes I've been to some canal areas and it is nice! I quite like Birmingham. The library is one of my favourite modern buildings in the country. And the centre is very compact for such a big city. The area around the (shit) cathedral is nice for a wander, eat and drink as well.
It's a combination of accent and tone of voice for me, so I find it quite hard to generalise. What's everyone's FAVOURITE and LEAST FAVOURITE British accent? I think my favourite is Geordie. It just sounds so friendly. I know a lot of people hate the Scouse accent but I do have a soft spot for it.
Least favourite is definitley Brummie. By some distance.

Liverpool also has a nice library.
Yeah, we get as specific as the Glasgow Uni accent!'the Scottish accent'? Even I can distinguish probably 3, and I'm sure our Scots could identify many more.

Mandy didKaty Perry AND Birmingham?
Ok, who gave Rachey this curse and why are they being so CRUEL?

As for accents my favourite has to be Scottish, and yes I know that’s generalising but I can’t distinguish any of the regions, I’d have to hear them side by side to do so. But they’re very similar and they’re all very nice. Even the strong ones.
Post an example of the amazing Scottish accent:

There's probably as many Scottish accents as there are English accents (@ZenGiraffe back me up on this) - there's about FOUR accents just in Glasgow alone (Glasgow Uni, West End/Bearsden, general Glaswegian and Ned). The accent changes when you drive 15 minutes away.
‘Iya Queen’Oh and then there’s Kirkby. Nobody has yet been able to identify its lineage but it’s probably somewhere between Cardiff and Copenhagen.
