Another good bit of advice someone gave me was this. At regular points, stop, do nothing but look. At people, at the venue, at what is happening. Ground yourself. Take it in. Because you'll be so busy trying to see everyone/ do everything that you really need to.

I didn't think of it until I was halfway through the speeches and it was SUCH a good point to make. It really did make me take it all in and appreciate everything far more.

Definitely this. My first wedding was such a whirlwind I had to divorce him and do it all over again with someone else.
