I have a day off today but I'll use it to schedule my autumn months. Also, London and Greece later this month :disco:

I hate 1st September. As someone who LIVES for summer, every fucking year it destroys me. It doesn’t last long, my love of Christmas pulls me through, but by god it gets to me. Especially when summer has been, like this one, less full of BBQs on the beach and more sat miserably in the car looking out at the rain.

Oh it's a non pupil day, which will be a full morning of tedious updates, followed an intense few hours of lesson planning and creating seating plans.
 
My beloved work colleagues are back from their conference today. If anyone dares to try and tell me how TIRED they are after their three-week all-expenses-paid trip to AUSTRALIA I swear I am going to DECK THEM after the fortnight I've had

Yeah I start feeling depressed too with the shorter days etc. I'm not particularly fond of Christmas either, so I tend to feel this way till spring when the bulbs start coming through.

Yeah I had a little sulk earlier this week. Summer has flown, it only feels like a couple of weeks ago I was at Glastonbury. That said, it looks like were getting some bonus sun over the next couple of weeks so still time for bbqs and being a pest in the park.
 
I've not even had my "summer" holiday from work yet! But, aye, it's been a shitter and I think everyone is feeling it.

And right on cue, TWO separate WhatsApp groups are talking about it feeling "just like autumn" this morning.

I DON'T NEED THIS SHIT.
 
I never like September as it's our busiest month at work, to the point everyone informally agrees not to take any time off during it as we need all hands on deck, but to have it come after such a damp squib of a summer feels like such a slap in the face :(
 
Though I do actually recall last September having a few lovely sunny weekends up here, so fingers crossed for THAT at least.
 
Absolutely gloating here but bar one wet day in a tent and a slightly soggy but still fun festival this weekend, my summer has been full of sun 🤷‍♀️

I've not spent a lot of time here over the 6 weeks break but I think we were just lucky with our festivals and trips, and it was nice before the kids broke up.
 
Time to get the jacket out again :(

Not generally fond of Christmas (particularly hunting for presents and hearing those same bloody songs from the 1980s for the 55 billionth time), it's going to be very different this year though so I'm sort of excited.

Always found as soon as September hits the rest of the year is gone in a flash though :/

I much prefer spring and summer, but I honestly don't mind cold weather as long as it's DRY. Obviously living in Scotland suits me well on that front :eyes:
 
I don't need to look at the data to find a correlation between people who enjoy the dark, cold months and SERIAL KILLING.
 
I've been in bed since Tuesday and I can finally walk around today without feeling like DEATH.

Just in time for the weekend :disco:
 
At least we've got a few months until the absolute WORST time (that interminable soggy darkness between January 2nd and spring springing).

I honestly love all seasons. I have no issue with heading in to colder weather, and I really like the dark cold clear nights where you can stand and look up at the stars for ages. Halloween to Christmas is my absolute favourite time of year and everything looks so much prettier with snow.
 
What I do absolutely DETEST though is the fact that we have not had a Summer here at all. We had a few good weeks in June and that is about it. I think that will make the next 6 months or so quite the slog.
