I had a harrowing incident on the M6 today. A lorry drifted out of its lane and bumped into the side of my hire car. Don’t think the driver even realised what had happened and just carried on.

But the car is a state. Ripped the passenger side wing mirror off (it’s hanging by a wire now) and there is damage all down then left side of the car.

Going to be a fun conversation with the car hire company when I return it on Monday Most important thing is that I’m fine. I’m with my Nan and we are both very happy to see each other.

Although the accident and the resulting forthcoming financial costs are annoying, it was so close to being a lot worse. Counting my blessings that I’m here to tell the tale.

What was your excess at the car hire? You wont pay more than that. I’ve damaged a lot of hire cars, thats what they are for!

I have done many times, but not so far on this visit as I enter Cheddar from the other side.

Going to go for a long walk over the Gorge this weekend though and make the most of the sunshine and the beautiful landscape.
