Funky Friday

At the office today, they've put up the Christmas tree. With lights and everything. Someone suggested adding music. The answer was a resounding NO across the board.

I want a Christmas name but I'm not sure what :confused:

Hi moopy.

I got a text to book my booster vacc, the closest place to me is Leigh Park. Now I'm not overly familiar with mainland council estates, but Im pretty sure this isn't one I want to visit.
 
My friend has been in hospital for a week with covid, they can't get her oxygen levels right. She's been in an oxygen tent, had a mask. Today they're putting her into a medically induced coma and doing oxygen proning... any idea what that is??
 
They've put a friend and colleague of mine in an induced covid coma recently. They do this so that the people don't suffer till they get better.
My friend's case was a terribly bad one, but he eventually recovered!
Oh and the proning is about how they place the body of the patient during the treatment in order to assist with breathing.
They use it to non induced coma patients too.

Ok that's good to know. Glad your friend was ok.

I knew if my friend got it she would suffer badly, she's had awful asthma her whole life, always needed a nebulizer etc.

Proning is when they lie the patient on their front. I'm sorry to be the one to tell you that it's not a good thing at all especially coupled with the medically induced coma.

This is what I thought. I guessed by the fact she had been in an oxygen tent all week that wasn't working that it wasn't good.
She had been messaging quite often but she's not spoken to anyone for two days :(
 
Might take a couple of weeks before she gets waken up by the coma and contacts you Rachey, my friend had to stay in it for a whole month.
When they woke him up and all was well he still felt very weak and couldn't talk much or even stand on his feet, so what they're doing now is a sort of rehabilitation program (not sure this is the correct word in english) so that his body will gradually get back its strength. As Floppet said it's not easy and will take some time. I wish your friend the best and the speediest recovery.

My 5 year old great niece got a Principal's Award today, for 'being kind and involving everyone in play'. I sent an appropriate message with accompanying smilies, but thought after, is that just the sort of stupid shit they give to children who are too thick to read or tell the time, so they don't feel left out?
 
My bf's niece a few months back got a congratulations letter for being very active and sociable during the breaks :D
I think it's lovely how they work with children these days, all we got as kids in school was criticism.

Yes, it's lovely that they are being acknowledged for being good people, rather than just being good at tasks.

Although that did make me wonder if she got an award for 'being kind' because she's usually anything but... :D
