I’m moving into an unfurnished flat so need to buy everything. I’ve got a great antique store nearby but stuff like the sofa, bed and wardrobes I want to buy new.

Does anyone have any good affordable recommendations? Trying not to BANKRUPT myself in the process.

No crushed velvet please.

For sofas have a look for an outlet. We got a display corner sofa for fuck all and there was nowt wrong with it

The last time I went bed hunting, I really struggled and went to about ten different chain. Oak Furnitureland was the only one that had options that I liked. I also went for matching bedside tables.

There’s a bizarre lack of stores in London though. I had to go to somewhere called Croydon and ride on something called a tram to get there.

Granted I haven't been to Croydon in an AGE but I'd have thought there were enough options locally - in fact I'm sure there is a furniture shop on Reeves Corner.

I’ve never ventured into the TOWN CENTRE or gotten a TRAM so maybe I’ll MAKE A DAY OF IT.

Oh God Reeves Corner, that's a throwback (for me).

We upgraded our bedside tables a while ago. The bed frame, while still solid needs updating. It looks slummy.

Sofas are a ticking clock too.
