ALWAYS here for Garbage but the last album was a bloated, and quite dark dud. Hope the 10 tracks is a sign we're back to basics a bit.

The album title is a bit of a mouthful though isn't it. Especially when quite a few of the song titles (modified) could have been good titles...
 
For example:

No Future In Optimism

RADICAL Garbage

SissyFUSS / Sisyphus

Imagine The Light

etc etc
 
I suppose it doesn't matter since a new Garbage album is strictly for the loyalists. but yes the title is crap.

Weirdly I was just wondering yesterday when the new album would appear.
 
I love them but the last album was a bit of a MEH so fingers crossed in this one
 
I quite liked the last album, it was definitely better than Strange Little Birds (though that did have Even Though Our Love Is Doomed).

The new album does apparently find Shirl in a different mood though:

Hold sounds like it should be the best we have heard so far.
 
nothing from this album is doing it for me so far. I think those clips sound uninspired.
 


I think the album is better than the two singles suggested, with Sisyphus and The Day That I Met God particularly standing out on first play.
 
I’ve torn myself away from Heidi Montag to give this a spin. It works MUCH better as a whole album rather than singles for me.
 
I’m not getting there with this album but will keep trying and of course I only want good things for Shirley so that midweek is good news.
 
It’s definitely not going to be a classic album for me but it’s not total “garbage”
 
I'm only one listen in, but the first half definitely felt classic "new" Garbage to me, with the second half needing a bit of getting into
 
There maybe aren't any super standout singles here but it hangs together well as an album.

Sisyphus is so gorgeous, I do wish they would go in that direction just a little more often. Very into Chinese Fire Hole and Hold too.

And to round the whole thing off with Tramadol, Tramadol, I found God in Tramadol :disco:
 
Wow, that fell off a cliff over the week. Interesting how Skunk Anansie held up in comparison last week.
