Totally the plan, I think. They want to be the new DUP. They can't win but they could be a coalition partner.

Obviously I;d rather they split the right wing vote and got fuck all but hey.
 
Brexit are polling roughly the same (actually a little less) as UKIP got in the 2015 election. They're probably the same people in the same areas. UKIP managed a spectacular one seat in that election (which was Tory defector Carswell's seat, so that was a special case)

They're not going to get 15-20 seats. They'll be lucky to get one.
 
It's slim comfort but Labour have moved up a couple of points based on the average of the last ten polls. Still way behind though (long way to go though kids!)
 
I like that Labeour are polling behind, every Tory interview I've seen the past couple of days has been talking about the Brexit party meanwhile Jez is just getting on with it.

I think if you don't recognise and support trans women then you're a TERF. I don't think it's wise to start separating TERFs out based on how many times they've publicly licked Graham Linehan's arsehole on Twitter.

One thing I think it's important to be wary of is just how genuinely representative these women are of the views of the general public. One of the core tenets of the TERF argument is that they represent the views of ordinary women but this claim, as you say, is largely without evidence. They know that is a powerful idea and one that helps to emphasise a narrative of decent normal people versus queer degeneracy.

In practice, we have no way of determining what proportion of the Mumsnet / Netmums lot are merely the same core contingent as those I referred to on Twitter. We should be wary of how much we are internalising their version of events as truth.
 
I realise I'm going to be kicking myself on December 13th when the good people of Hartlepool are singing TOMORROW BELONGS TO ME in honour of Nigel Farage, our new immortal leader, but I'm hopeful they're going to fuck it up for the Tories.

I hope you're right. But after the European Elections (and yes I'm aware it's a different voting system) I don't have a clue any more.
 
A different voting system and a different reason for voting. Most except the most ardent idiots in society would have voted for them on the basis that it was a protest vote that doesn't really matter what happens when they get elected. A GE is a very different.
 
As someone who lives in the North East I can say the Brexit party are going to do very well in this area. Labour is pretty much a given in the NE obviously but Farage etc have substantial support up here and it’s genuinely terrifying.
 
They right wing vote in Scotland is Unionist rather than Conservative but has always traditionally gone to the Conservatives. The Brexit Party polled their lowest percentage of the vote in the whole country in Glasgow at the European elections which was something to be proud of but there is undoubtedly stronger support now. However, in Glasgow, it's essentially a fireworks display, a lot of threatening noise and a bit of tedious pagentry, amounting to fuck all at the ballot box.
 
"Tommy Robinson" stood here in the European Elections, he launched his campaign around the corner from me. At the time it seemed genuinely threatening, a lot of noise and support. I was concerned there was an actual chance of him doing well, he got 2.2% of the vote.
 
The Tories are delivering the perfect election campaign at the minute. Lets hope it continues.

I wish he'd done this before this particular moment in time, but at least our centrist hero went out in a blaze of glory *checks notes* arguing against a homophobe being deselected.
 
The best hope is that the Tories fall short of overall majority and aren´t close enough to be able to form some sort of pact with BXP - if they even win any seats that is.

I know the polls were way out last time as well but the circumstances were different. Brexit fatigue set in a while back and sadly I think that is more likely to work in the Tories favour.

Just when you think this whole thing couldn´t get anymore FUCKING GRIM.
 
I wish the Lib Dems weren't playing these stupid games. Their general campaigning messages are by far the ones that align with my views the most but they're just holding themselves up for so much shit with these misleading adverts.
 
Considering the supposed difference in campaigning quality of the leader compared to 2017 they've been off to a shitpoor start.
 
The Lib Dems have withdrawn their candidate in Bristol West, to allow the Greens to stand on a pro Remain ticket.

The Lib Dems won that seat in 2005 and 2010, but Thangam has a 37,000 majority now, which must make it one of Labour's safest seats. It has a massive student population, and voted 80% remain. I'm worried for her.
 
Tories currently polling over 40% likely to give a 90 seat majority.

*sigh*
