They're currently on about 8%. Presuming they mostly go Tory they could get a majority going into triple figures.

But with Brexit Party standing in Conservative target seats held by Labor and Lib Dems, it could stop the Tories winning additional seats that they may have won had Brexit party not stood, couldn't it?

I can't work out how to say that so that it makes sense, but hopefully it does

But those are in seats the Conservatives already hold, so it doesn't actually add any seats to their tally. I guess the majority only increases if Labour lose to Conservatives in marginals because Labour voters vote Brexit Party instead of Labour.

It's all a bit THEORETICAL

I really can not see any other result than a massive Boris majority. Fantasies of a 2017 like comeback for Corbyn should be quietly put away. That was against May, this is against the ruthless Boris juggernaut.

Wonder what he's been offered for this. Seems like some top level shithousery at play.

The sliver of hope here is that people pull their heads out of their arses and we get some form of opposing pact, even if unofficial

It's not gonna happen - Swinson hates Corbyn and Sturgeon - and the SNP won't enter into any pact unless they're given the promise of a second independence referendum. I think Labour and SNP would probably get some sort of pact going. Maybe if Labour stood down in some Scottish seats where they have absolutely NO chance of winnning. That could potentially wipe out the Tories completely in Scotland.

Farage standing down BXP has saved probably the majority of Tory seats in Scotland. it's still only about 10 seats but every one counts...

At this point I may change my vote. It doesn't really matter anymore.

I have been invited to go along and help choose the Green candidate for this evening. I can't really be bothered.

This election by constiuency thing is so flawed. This wouldn’t have happened if you’d had proportional elections... on the other hand it would have let UKIP enter Parliament years ago.

Honestly, I don't think this pact is as big of a deal as it seems. The Tories need a majority, and with the Brexit Party running interference it makes it all the harder for them to go after constituencies held by other parties.
Plus, there seems to have been a bit of a backlash from Brexit Party supporters who are saying they'd rather not vote than support Johnson's deal.

We'll see. In any event majority or not(most likely now tbh) I think it's a safe bet that we've got Boris until 2024.

I know Iive abroad, but STILL, seeing this happen to my home country is really quite a sickening feel.

I agree with BT. I dont think its as big a deal as it initially sounds. BXP were polling at what, 8% - Farage has made some noise about about going after Labour’s hold on London, but what about the North? I think they might sweep up a few gammony swing voters but I dont think the end is nigh.

I honestly can't remember being more depressed by politics. And we lived through 2016. It's just horrible. :(

Can we start a campaign to bring Seb Flyte home please? It’s been too long.

Some of the more measured speculation in the media this morning is suggesting that this won't do the Tories that much good as the Brexit Party will still be splitting the vote in seats they want to win from Labour or where they want to see off the Lib Dems. I admire this attempt to keep people's spirits afloat but we're all fucked.

Labour say they have suffered a cyberattack. I presume to highlight the delay in issuing the Russia Report.

It does kind of make sense though doesn't it? They never were really much of a threat in Tory strong holds but if they split the gammon vote between tory and BXP thats surely a good thing.

I caught a few seconds of something on BBC Breakfast and they asked a group of people if anyone would vote for Farage's party, the response was deathly silence :D

I think what this highlights (yet again) is that the right wing are focused, with a clear message and collaborating to get the result they want. Whereas the left wing parties are hopelessly confused, mired in disagreements both internally and among themselves, and there are reasons to have serious reservations about voting for any of them.

They need to fucking sort it out, but it's not going to happen in time for this election.

But the right wing always have this, always. I'm going to be a wee bit reductive here but bear with me....To be right wing is to be prejudiced, exclusionary, capitalist. To be left wing is to seek progress, improvement, equality. The left are more likely to disagree over what that means, what to do first and the mechanics thereof. The left is always more diffuse and more factioned.

What we have here is a single issue general election in which the right wing have the simple message of "we'll do that thing you wanted" and the left are split between "we won't", "we will too" and "we'll need to go through another referendum". And you'll find all three of these positions within Labour.

It does - but that makes no sense in terms of what's in it for Farage. I mean, given that he seems to have consulted no-one and just gone for it, it has to be for personal gain, it's the only thing that motivates him.

He's been offered a peerage right? I mean again, to sensible people, which I appreciate we're lacking in here in the UK, thats just more offputting for the Tories. Bribing their way out of the shit they created.

Maybe I really do live in a bubble...I just don’t understand how the obviously bad side can be winning. The producers of this election couldn’t have given them more evil tropes if they tried. Even the physical appearances of Rees-Mogg, Johnson, Farage should set off warning bells that maybe they’re not to be trusted; leering over us in their Dickensian silhouettes. And I’m not saying that thin Santa Jeremy Corbyn is the bees knees either, but come on, read the signs.

I guess it most reminds me of that Simpsons episode where that guy comes and promises them a Monorail. We’re going to end up like Shelbyville and Ogdenville.
