I spent 10 minutes talking to the Tory candidate in a shopping centre once, whilst people who might have voted for him walked past. I then put his leaflet into a bin whilst still in his eye line. It was a safe seat and he won anyway, so it was totally pointless, but it was quite satisfying.

That interview is an absolute TREAT. :D

Are they literally just letting any old racist Nan stumble into the leader position?!

I thought you were in SUELLA's constituency?

No- she’s where I work (Fareham). I actually live in the one “Labour red dot in a sea of blue” that is Portsmouth South.

Although why UKIP are STILL getting airtime I don’t understand...

And we're not going to get a chance to nominate him for cunt of the year.

I don't know exactly what format @cwej has planned, but yes, he has to have a possible way in.

The Twitter pile-on was quite something but the twisted old prick probably enjoyed it.

This is a terrifying, but arguably accurate representation of what a huge amount of British voters (of a certain age) are thinking going into this election -

I am pretty much 50/50 Green/ Labour right now. My postal vote needs to go off fairly soon. I hate this election.

I'd vote Labour. I know it's sad but unless you're in Brighton Pavillion a Green vote is a fairly futile gesture.

Weird that Sian Berry's out on all the debates but not actually standing as far as I can tell? I think she's been doing pretty well too. Other than Caroline Lucas and the fabulous Magid Magid, there's not exactly an overabundance of Greens with any kind of profile.

I think Green is a good vote in a safe seat, in order to help increase their profile nationally. If you're in any way marginal it would be a waste of a vote.

I watched that live last night. Nearly threw breezeblocks into my telly.

I do hope Magidx2 tries to become an MP one day. (Y'know, when we dont have MEPs any more in a decade or so)

Has anyone changed their minds since this thread opened, out of interest?

I'll do a fresh 'How DID you vote' poll on the day, obviously.

I know this is the usual DREADFUL SHIT but WHO WOULDN'T!

Bet she can suck a prize marrow through a water can. AM I RITE LADS OI OI

She looks like shes eaten some really strong weed brownies in that photo and theyve just kicked in

Ooh there might be sleet around next thursday here

Here's hoping a few pensioners fall over on the way to the polling station

But it works both ways because the tactical voting means voting Lib Dem over Labour in some areas.

In a much smaller number of seats obviously. Voting tactically in MOST areas means voting Labour. The total number of voters for the Liberal Democrats at the last election 2.4 million getting them 12 seats, compared to Labour on 12.9 million and 262 seats. Five times the votes, but more than twenty times the seats. You know that 'tactical' voting benefits Labour more than it benefits any other party.

Trust me, with the choice between Johnson and Corbyn, I obviously would prefer Corbyn - but I also believe that people need to stop accepting the status quo of only those top two parties. Every single election people are told to vote 'tactically' and the only way things will change is by people voting differently if they don't believe in those parties - which I certainly don't on the whole.

Absolutely - but the Lib Dems completely fucked their chance in the coalition by tearing up their manifesto, voting for tuition fees, voting for austerity and making an arse of the referendum. We can't get beyond where we are without people being made to feel that their vote has value and FPTP simply doesn't do that.

It's a right mess, innit?

I would comfortably vote for the Lib Dems if I was in a marginal and there was more chance of them winning than the Tories. Otherwise, no.

Putting Swinson aside for a moment, I still think (and obviously hope, given a hung parliament is the best case scenario for this shitshow) that the Lib Dems and Labour could work together in a way that would be beneficial to both of them and the electorate.
