The writers wanted Aboriginal ghosts, but there are generally cultural taboos about depictions of dead people, and after consulting with experts, they abandoned the idea.

I'll give the Australian one a go, especially since the American one turned out to be surprisingly not shit. A few pointless characters and the usual American obsession with romantic nonsense but otherwise fairly decent.

I watched the Aussie one on a plane and it was rather good. Haven’t seen the UK one but should give that a bash.

I think it did a decent job fleshing out the characters and finding decent stories to spotlight them all, it just leant too heavily into coupling everyone off and lumbered itself with characters like Flower who have literally nowhere to go. I also much preferred the main girl's boyfriend in the American one over the British one, he was FAR less thick.
