I think one of the challenges for the people booking these things is that it's increasingly difficult to find people who have come up in the past few years who do have that sort of crossover appeal - and harder still when you're also looking for people who feel, for want of a better word, worthy.

Does it really have to be someone relatively new? I know they’d be expensive, but Rihanna and Lady Gaga for instance certainly have the hits, and have never played there before but would certainly be something different to white men with guitars. Miley Cyrus could probably blow the place away too.

It’s quite hard really, they have to be both big, a decent back catalogue already, and touring - Madonna was obviously meant to be there in some form, some of the other biggies are not doing the rounds.
Taylor is too big for Glastonbury at the moment which is unfortunate. They probably could’ve done with a bit of a golden oldie again or Calvin Harris with the hits.

Was Shania on something? She didn't look right throughout some of it. I did enjoy the "Man!.." performance, the crowd seemed to love it
