Glastonbury 2025

I’ve not really looked who is on but I know Alanis is today but I’m seeing her on Monday so not sure if I’ll watch her in advance of my gig.

Lorde’s just turned up for a surprise performance. Will watch her and Alanis later.

Alanis and Biffy Clyro are the main ones for me today, on the Pyramid Stage at least.

Stay For Something was TOO MUCH :disco:

As good as the new songs are that and Where Are Your Kids Tonight are still her best songs.

Spawn of Bono is a slightly unnerving mix of daddy, Chalamet and the one with the shit eating grin from The Vamps.

There’s a Bono spawn in the music industry too? I only know the one who acts.

I don't get why Alanis isn't headlining over the 1975. I don't even think I could name one song by them.

A man with an equivalent back catalogue probably would be headlining.

Shocking news that a WIZENED OLD WHITE MAN who had spent the last two decades ignoring his legacy to become a one-man X FACTOR BIG BAND WEEK is in fact a gammon

"You can count her if you want. I try not to" - Rod Stewart on his eldest daughter, born when he was 18 or so

The full sets from yesterday are up. Watching En Vogue now. For four obviously great singers, the miming is bizarre, and so obvious!

NO YOU'RE NEVER GONNA GET IT!
hi how you doin'!

I switched over and they were lipping some uptempo stuff. They then dragged the stools out, announced they were taking it back to BORN TO SING and continued to mime in the most exaggerated fashion :D

The non-original member was either singing a bit more live or was better at miming than the rest.

I enjoyed the Whatta Man performance when the sang the Salt N Pepa raps. And they finally got the assignment, but overdid it a bit with the long covers medley. Still, the lip syncing wasn’t too off-putting as they were clearly singing live over it.

It’s just crap when people do that as when they switch to fully live, the sound issues (which don’t seem to affect any other act) become evident.

They definitely sound more live (as in, 40-50% rather than 0%) further into the set. I wonder if the sound techs struggled to get the levels right at the beginning?

This En Vogue disco medley is great fun, but I do fear it's eating into setlist time that could otherwise have been spent on THE RIDDLE or TOO GONE TOO LONG

Just ANYTHING else from Ev3 on top of Don’t Let Go would have been appreciated. Going to be playing that album today now. It’s been so long :disco:

I wasn't particularly watching, but I didn't notice lip syncing.

Anyway R JADE in 15.

The lead on Giving Him Something He Can Feel sounded properly live, the rest seemed to be the odd line here and there.
