Global All Stars (1 Viewer)

I really thought that was Kong's given we saw so little of Alyssa in terms of action parts and the barrel roll was unleashed (much better than it was in the Down Under season).

I'm sort of hate-watching Kitty though. I just think it's really tired regurgitating a catchphrase of a queen who is also coming back back back etc and for me it sums her up. The looks won't be great, the live vocal was PA level adequate only, but the how late were you, 12 inches, answer was good.

I thought the first 2 episodes were mostly fun. Ru clearly wants to kill Tessa :D The bitch is clumsy, dumb, and annoying :disco:

Alyssa and Kitty still STARS.

We get a "fuck" in a lip sync song, but don't get to see GALA's probably beautiful ass? Shocking.

They're obviously keeping Testa as their protagonist. Alyssa batting her off like a fly in the way of her mirror was fun.

Can't wait for Ross next week. Buckle up for some zingers.

Tessa is kinda fascinating. There's something chidlike about her. But I don't know if it's in a 2-D Sugar/Spice kind of way, or whether there's actually depth to her. Cuz her first two looks were gorgeous.

Rubbish lip-sync song and performance.

Watching Canada alongside this, the difference in budget and level is INSANE.

Alyssa is a serious level of class higher than the rest. It’s almost frightening.

Yes, but it has made me wonder whether having her there is actually fair.
Alyssa is an established drag/dance artist living off of that career for a few years now. Whereas some of the other queens barely make a living out of their drag.

The way they're trying to turn Nehellenia into Lucy LeDuca :D

Top 4 is looking like Alyssa, Kitty, Kween and....Pythia? I hope Kitty doesn't win. There's something very arrogant about her now.

Still don't know what to make of Tessa.

So the English speaking ones/ones that were judged by Ru :boring:

Nehellenia was giving Laganja ‘I don’t know what you said but you said it and what you said bothered me’. Of course Italy was going to bring the drama! Kitty is hateful and a bully.

I wasn't without sympathy for Nehellenia tbh, although I don't think she communicated her point particularly well - and then it felt like they used that to attack her, rather than addressing her original pretty valid point.

That was easily the weakest episode so far though. Nobody really blew me away.

I don't dislike Kitty, but she feels just like a fairly stereotypical British cookie cutter drag queen. She IS good and a competent entertainer. But I can't get particularly excited by her, don't think she's especially charismatic, and I don't find her particularly likeable.

I hate the way Kitty keeps looking directly into the camera. I don’t remember her being this annoying however she was on S3 which had Ella Vaday.

I remember finding her more annoying as S3 went along and there were less people to distract. When we were subjected to three weeks of the top four talking about badges.

I like Nehellania and thought she was pretty justified given that they'd just been talking about how they would be surprised if she was in the top. I thought she should have won the challenge, honestly.

I want to support Kween Kong out of solidarity for Down Under S2, but she's so ultra defensive all the time and just never seems to want to even try to be fun.

The Nehellania 'gaslighting' incident has really blown up among the fanbase it seems, although a big part of it is people pearl clutching about Kween Kong calling her a cunt, presumably not realising that in Australia you could use that word to describe your own mother without raising an eyebrow. :D

It felt to me that the other queens entirely proved her point there. I don't think they particularly thought she was BAD - they just weren't considering her at all because they underestimate her. So when she wasn't declared safe, they assumed that she simply wasn't good as they couldn't contemplate that someone else enjoyed her or considered her better than them.

I’m sorry I laughed out loud at her being called a cunt, Kween’s delivery was perfect.

The series itself is a bit wonky but I WILL SAY Kitty's talking heads have been very funny

Why does Oh Edie tell RuPaul "No, you cannot" when he asks if he can get an Amen?

Fully English speaking team win English speaking acting challenge non-shock.

They were all hard to watch I thought, but I am fully Team Nehellania.

4 of the 6 wins so far to queens Ru has previously judged. One further to the other English language franchise. And the sole other win was no doubt helped by the split and neither Alyssa, Kitty or Kween being in that group.

I suppose it's too big a potential platform for the other queens to turn down, but seeing them treated as cannon fodder is disheartening.

I hate it so much that Alyssa basically comes out squeaky clean every time because everything she does just makes Rupaul collapse into laughing. I totally get it but it ruins the game somewhat to have Alyssa participating.

I suspect one of Vanity/Pythia will get at least close to the end as they speak clear and fluent English. The queens who don't are so obviously disadvantaged, which has arguably been the case since they first started casting Puerto Rican queens like Kenya Michaels and Lineysha Sparxxx, but remains a pretty glaring flaw in the system when the show is so largely based on the ability to improvise and be witty in front of a head judge with a very limited and prescriptive frame of references.

It's no coincidence than Vanity and Pythia are the only two girls to have won where he didn't host the season.

And it's not only that Ru's frame of reference is so limited (in a global sense), or prescriptive of what 'good drag' is, but then also that his legacy in turn shapes the references of English language queens more than the others - and then that's reflected back at him. It's self feeding.

Eurgh I really want to engage in slagging off this season but can’t be bothered to watch the episode!

I thought the middle team were the best and that Gala from the first team actually was the best in terms of acting whilst having no dialogue. Kween winning was absurd. Kitty and Testa would have been my bottoms. Takes before Michelle "helped" were better (the Italian, Alyssa and the Swede all delivered lines that got worse with direction or just weren't shown). The scripts were abysmal. And just let us watch the entire reading challenge - we can handle a bad attempt and if anything it can become entertainingly so since they've the whole line to go through. What a frustrating watch.

Yeah Gala was the best on her team and I enjoyed her runway.

Also…

Have we seen an unblurred clip/image of Gala's ass yet? Not getting to see it on that runway on whatever week it was was a crime.

Just watched the episode and it's a complete nonsense. Did no one on production think about how this was going to come across?

Who are these acting challenges for. I can’t imagine a single person who would enjoy them? Why can’t they hire writers?
