Go_A - Shum (Ukraine 2021)

Ukraine's greatest. I think it topped my Spotify Wrapped 4 years ago. Everything about the performance is hypnotic and Kateryna Pavlenko is a star. With all due respect to Kalush Orchestra, but "Shum" deserved that win more, purely song-wise. I think Go_A are on hiatus (or they split up?), but I can't say no to Kateryna comeback with something in a similar vein.

Felt like a triumph at the time but I can't help but look back and think it "only" managed 5th. It's a classic and deserves to be remembered and spoofed in halftime shows for YEARS to come. (I.e. MOVE OVER VERKA)

I didn't know anything about contestants beforehand (didn't recognise her in the yellow hoodie in the 2020 Love Shine A Light clip) but Kateryna definitely stood out in a way I adore
and the song was fun

I wasn't a fan of this at the time (in fact I was quite strongly against it) and would still rather listen to Solovey, but going to see them live a couple of times (and hearing it on nights out) has helped me warm to it.
