where do we stand on GOD CONTROL in 2026?

quite a FUN EXPERIMENT! I don't think it's a song I'll ever play often but I kinda love the absurdity of it and it's really incredibly well produced. she also sounds great.

God Control found a Mirwais vein and it's orchestral disco thrush flourishes with purpose and bounce, but not without interruption (which the admittedly impressive video made even worse). I even get a vague whiff of Lady Kier in there. Too bad she somewhat shafted the songwriters - hopefully it was Guy's fault and it was quickly ironed out faster than it's chart run.

If memory serves, Bev asked to be banned related to the Israel/Gaza discussion, and HeLikedTurner had some sort of breakdown where he impersonated his sister in a pop music thread (unless my wires are crossed)

God Control is great and one of the best from an album that “suffered” from not having 10/10 moments for me, though it was consistently good across the board.

It’s almost great, but the mumblecore verses really drag it down.
