I know this has been mentioned in the ABBA forum but it deserves a mention that ABBA just received their FIRST EVER Best Album nomination from the Grammys.

Beyoncé and Adele are leading with the most noms. Drake and The Weeknd boycotted the submission with their album.

God, Beyoncé could fart and she would be up for Record of the year.
 
The interesting irony about ABBA is that this year the organisation has massively expanded and diversified their voter base with an emphasis on younger people, so ABBA's chances of actually winning anything are practically nil. They probably would have had a great chance of a storybook win in any other year.

As I said in the other thread, I don't understand why when I Still Have Faith In You and Don't Shut Me Down were both released on the same day (in the eligibility period for last year), one got nominated last year, and the other one this year.

The label will have found some loophole. Grammy has a very complex windowing system.

Like @Devil said in the other thread, it's probably something to do with it when it was sent to radio. Or the fact that the album it was included on wasn't released until the next year.
 
The SOPHIE album was nominated for Best Dance/Electronic Album at the 2019 Grammys, so she might have been the first trans woman to be nominated?

It flopped and the Morning Gorgeous song was actually on heavy rotation across R&B platforms. Someone still has love for her. I thought the album was crap to be honest.
 
The Elton/Dua duet was also submitted, and snubbed, as it goes..... was apparently expected to walk the pop duo category and didn't even get nominated.

Was hoping Lana would get a nom. They haven't given her any love since Norman. I think Blue Banisters is up there with that album in overall reviews on Metacritic.
 
Mary scamming so many noms (her most since The Breakthrough!) is kind of a scream. good for her though.
