HELL IS OTHER PEOPLE
Seen it countless times since I had the VHS as a kid. Mr S hadn't, so we watched it last night.
Just wonderful & one of the all-time greats. Bill Murray is the best choice in the lead role as his sarky & funny delivery stops things getting too cloying & sentimental, Andie MacDowell is a thousand times more endearing & charming than her godawful Four Weddings character & the whole supporting cast are on form, special mention to Stephen Tobolowsky as the world's most annoying insurance salesman.
Properly gets you musing PHILOSOPHICALLY about life & making the most of it too. You could interpret it in a whole bunch of different ways but it's unquestionably a feelgood film. Absolutely the tonic I needed after a bit of a bumpy week - cheered me right up.
The whole bunch of scenes with him trying to commit suicide are dark as hell too.
