problem with this type of journalism is they lose their argument with questions like how much have you spent that plays into his hand as the audience do agree it’s none of your business… up until that point she was winning but journalism is so obsessed with having their gotcha moment the audience ends up siding with the other person
 
You say that but there's also a great deal of people who will say "none of your business" indicates something to hide.
 
A far better line of questioning would be why have they given it to you and push that question

I also don't understand how it could for security and NOT be a political donation. he needs security because he's a politian. therefore if he's spending the money on that - a big if - it seems like the commission could easily conclude it was a political donation?
 
It's a conscious shifting of the window. Don't question where the big money is coming from, don't question what the big money wants in return, it's all None Of Your Business.

But as an elected MP who is duty bound to declare such donations, it is EXACTLY our business.

Especially as he said it was for security against this shadowy, non-disclosed threat. Surely we have a public right to know how much that security is costing?
 
One of the most annoying things about that interview, amongst many, was the way he kept asking the interviewer what she spent her salary on. A five million pound kickback from a shadowy expat crypto billionaire is not your salary, you corrupt fuck.

But in the Julia interview he was seconds away from scoffing that 5m is a drop in the ocean to these people and that is far more alienating to his base audience than demanding to know what he’s spending money on… it also opens questions on whether such levels of wealth to give away 5m as if it’s nothing when children are starving is fair and does he agree everyday people not being able to afford food whilst his pals have enough to drop 5m like it’s pennies is right… and if he does can he really understand the struggles of the people he’s meant to stand for

But people who lack critical thinking skills and think the government already want to spy on you and know too much will feel greater alignment to defending privacy

Pandering to people who lack critical thinking is a waste of time, theyve already decides ar nige can spend his £5m as he wants as long as they can call people pakis again without the woke mob getting upset.

I mean, fuck him and fuck ICE but I can't feel 'good' about it because the exercise was always to get people to work on the basis that the leopards wouldn't eat their face (I love that graphic above) and vote for their own decline. It's happened in the UK many times, most obviously Brexit, and is a classic part of the right wing playbook. Karma for him, sure but another 'win' for fascism.
