I pay £37.50 a month for an unlimited hair and beard package. I tend to go once a fortnight as a result. My barber is a CHUM and there’s a lovely dog in the shop which loves me, so that’s marvellous, as well as the fact that it’s quite trendy and lots of people I know go there and so it’s a good place to bump into people.

my mum trims my hair every few months. I used to go to the hairdressers when I was younger (under 12, around a decade ago) yet to have a trim there since haha. They complimented the (previously) thick, wavy hair, but didn't cut it properly. 
I've considered getting much shorter hair (above the shoulders, not been that short since I was about 5; last 'shorter than usual' cut in 2019) but just about manage with the relatively long curly-ish black hair I have.

Yeah I don't really like getting my hair cut, and used to find it very stressful sitting down at the barbers and waiting to see which random would be doing my hair that day.
The same stylist has done my hair for over 15 years now, and I book for 5-6 weeks as I leave. The salon is unisex but leans mature lady.

When I was a child we had a hairdresser come to the house. Then as I got to a teenager, I went to various local barbers, and did so up until my early 20s. I never had a hairstyle - I had thick, wavy/curly hair, and just had it cut to stop it growing out, rather than in length. My style was 'just a trim, please' and saying it looked alright, whatever anyone did to it.
It was only in my early 20s that I actually considered I could have a STYLE, and then I went to a very nice salon here at the suggestion of a friend, and I couldn't believe the difference it made in terms of how much better it looked, amd how I felt about myself. Then after a couple of years I decided on a whim to chop it off. I had it short for a couple of years, then decided to grow it again, only to discover I'd pretty much gone semi Michael Bolton by that point
