Though even worse was when I decided to look the actor up, I came across an article that was headlined something like “New Heartstopper Teacher Proves It’s Never Too Late For Love”.

Mr Farouk is supposed to be 26.

That was almost a jump shark moment for me. Utterly ridiculous and out of nowhere.

And she’s really fucking annoying- the straights can keep her.

Of course he and (a few) others are straight but my comment was a sweeping throwaway comment because of how ridiculous it is that there are so many. Do NOT be throwing that dagger at me.
 
Yeah, Tao is probably the most annoying and least well acted of the leads so I'm not that keen for his storylines to be further expanded.

The only supporting cast members I really want to see more of are Mr Farouk and Charlie's sister.

The two leads especially look so much older now. It is going to make it even harder to buy some of the dialogue.
 
This season seriously sucks so far. Am trying my best to endure it and watch the series to its end but everything good there was about it is lost. It's like it's reduced to a very bad acted Degrassi Junior High.
Am fuming 😤
 
I thought it was solid up to episode 5. After that it really takes a nosedive, although I really like Elle's storyline this season. Olivia Colman's absence is hilarious, I love how she's not mentioned by anyone, not even at Christmas :D
 
Three episodes in and I’m done. It’s badly acted to the point of distraction, relentlessly preachy, I just don’t fucking care about Isaac and his lack of libido and I actively dislike/ am irritated by most of the characters. Light bulb moment when Mr Sheena said “oh, you don’t have to actually keep watching it you know”.

OH YEAH :D
 
What's with all the hate, mopsy?
I watched all 3 seasons and found it very very heartwarming.
It does exactly what it says on the tin.
 
Ok I burned through all 3 seasons and,while I think it was good overall, it REALLY gets heavy handed in season 3 with “let’s cover every inch of the Queer spectrum with a small handful of characters”. I think it would have been fine if it wasn’t 8 episode seasons but 8 roughly half-hour episodes isn’t enough time to cram all that in without it just feeling jumbled in and rushed.

I did enjoy the Elle storyline and think it was handled tastefully and thoughtfully.

Bless Isaac but he could have easily been written out and nothing would have been lost. I think exploring that aspect of sexuality would have been fine but they really just tossed it out and then sent him back to the background again. Also, that poor guy is one of the worst actors on the show.

Nick and Charlie are played really well and aspects of them really took me back to my youth which was fun to remember. That young love feeling seems so long ago at this point. I think they are going to have issue with the boys aging out even more than they did for season 3 especially Nick (Kit) if they continue the show.
 
⬆️ To expand on this, I felt like someone overstayed their welcome by hijacking my chill escapism time to run a very unnecessary seminar on things it's impossible to be unaware of for pretty much the past 35 years. Season 1 was a gorgeous reminder of what teen love is made of, and season 3 totally wasn't.

That said I still need to find the courage to watch the last 2 episodes cause I lost interest midthrough.
 
From what little I've seen it looks far too earnest for my tastes, but I'm happy that the younger queens have it.
 
If it wasn’t for being stuck at home with Covid I probably would have never watched it but it made for an ok distraction.
 
I was probably put off by my teenage nieces being all over it before anyone I else knew was.

And now I'm less inclined to start it after hearing the second and third series are less appealing. Because Mr L is one of those who will have to watch to the very end if he starts it.
 
I’ve never watched a second of this, but I overheard a middle aged man this morning on the overground describe to a friend of his how SCARED he was of season 3, and of how they’d handle the inevitable SEX SCENES, and how comfortable he felt watching them.

Anyway I think it’s wicked and awful and won’t be taking further questions.
