Heartstopper (2 Viewers)

I think it’s worth a watch but I will say it put me in a bit of a funk after because it can make you feel quite old.

To be fair, young queers now can just jerk off to actual hardcore porn so don't have to live vicariously through RTD's slightly problematic wank fantasies.
 
A film to wrap things up seems a good outcome in the circumstances.

The last season definitely seemed to have less impact and I imagine Kit Connor in particular is keen to take on other work. Hopefully with the reduced running time they focus on the key characters.
 
The issue with these shows is that the kids typically age faster than the storyline so it’s hard to continue on without it looking weird. Most of the actors aren’t even that old but the majority look well over the ages of the characters at this point.

That said, I’m happy to at least get something to wrap up the show instead of a cancellation. Kit desperately wants to move on and I’m sure Hoe is busy with Marvel work soon.

They really took too long getting this done and recasting the role is not great.
 
I still haven’t watched s3, despite enjoying s2 far more than I expected. It doesn’t feel essential

lol at Olivia paying it absolute dust. She must really hate LGBTQIA+ people.

Synopsis: It’s been 84 years and the boys are considering finally showing each other their super noodles. But there is trouble on the horizon since nobody else in the cast (save for the teachers they should have spun off into an OnlyFans) can act and also we no longer care.
 
I wonder if the same fate awaits Heated Rivalry? A rapturous initial reception followed by utter apathy a few years later?

I would say that’s probably the case especially since the two leads are being offered so much other stuff to do. I can see season 2 being it lol
 
The final episode will be one of them finally taking a dump in front of the other and then expiring on the toilet off of the fumes from an out of control fire pit.
 
I just finished the movie and, while I would have rather had a full season, I’m happy we got anything at all. I think they did ok wrapping things up but it all felt a little rushed to get there.

Joe and Kit really chew up the screen and did some excellent acting in this.

I hate the recast of Sarah but since Olivia wasn’t coming back, it is what it is.

Overall I still really love this series and it still brings my old gay heart joy to see a gay story that isn’t all doom and gloom.
 
They really could have just done with splitting it up into six episodes and padding the length with deleted scenes. There’s no point in it being a movie if the production values are still within the world of a TV show, I guess except for publicity reasons.
 
Maybe they could have padded it out with the supporting cast? It felt like they didn't really get any scenes on their own. Elle's and Tao's storylines seemed to be reduced to telling other people that they broke up. Or Elle saying I'm scared, come to Pride with me.
I don't know if the comics fleshed out the plot a bit better?

Anyway.
