so this has begun. i can't say i was at all excited for it but it feels kind of event. it took halfway through the episode for it to grab my interest, mirren is hamming it up for those back rows, some of the dialogue is a bit meh but there was a lot i enjoyed as well. i will definitely give it a chance.

the last part with the drag ball was ridiculous and a bit funny too.

I was really excited about this, but the first episode felt rather underwhelming. It wasn’t the epic drama I was expecting and when reading The Romanovs I imagined Catherine to be very different from how Mirren is portraying her (my fault, not hers). I’ll of course watch the rest. I’m glad they made it all available at once.
