I don't think its ever made any difference in my life at all There are maybe 5 people I talk to regularly in a different American time zone, and none of it is for work.

Fair enough! Sometimes at work I'm dealing with both Australia and Canada which means early starts and late finishes if they both want calls, and that's quite annoying!
