I had Monday and Tuesday off and it's still felt like this week has lasted about three years :zombie:
 
Was just about to go to the gym but its pissing it down. Might eat pastry instead.

Current forecast is absolutely dreadful all week 🤣

But, it'll be nice to get away and out of the flat.
 
Little Dannii is just not settling at school, the teacher had to drag her off me this morning screaming and crying. Apparently yesterday they had to get Kylie to come give her a hug to calm her down as she wouldn't stop. It's so distressing :(

Kylie was the same when he started. I just didn't expect it from Dannii as she's so confident and the opposite to him. I don't know what's got into her. Makes you feel a bit of a failure though, as if you didn't prep them well for school, but I couldn't have done anymore.

I don't think for one second you've been a failure, your love for your children shines through. Maybe you've just made them so happy at home they don't like being away. Hopefully she will settle soon, it's a huge adjustment for her ❤️
 
Mr Ag has started driving lessons again, and I'm investing my money into this. I'm pretty confident sober Mr Ag will pass in no time we'll be out at National Trust venues, glamping sites and I'll have a guaranteed pick up when I get onto my third bottle of wine.

It's a good investment.

They'll get there. If it's still a problem at Christmas, it won't be by Easter.

If its any consolation, Ron Jr didn't stop to as much as look back at us on his first day or at any point after. A bit of emotion wouldn't have gone a miss :D
 
about 90 minutes ago I was brought into a group teams chat advising them I would be delivering a training refresher for 30 minutes live for some existing staff already on the call without having prior notice what the topic was or that I was even going to be asked to do it. I just survived it internally repeating to myself “it’ll all be over in 30 minutes” over and over again.

I went into the refurbished HMV that reopened in Glasgow today. The only music on the ground floor is some K-Pop which is to the back on the wall. The range of actual music downstairs is definitely smaller. Also, they're having to close for a couple of days in a fortnight to fix the doors so it's all gone VERY WELL.

Are people actually buying K-pop music physically? If anything screams streaming-only phenomenon it's that, to me at least :o

More than once the headmaster of spawn's primary school had to peel spawn off me and physically carry or drag her into school, every morning was a fight but on the days my friend dropped her off with her daughter she'd go in happily, no tears or anything let alone screaming and clinging to legs. Once we sussed that out I'd take her down to the school gates, meet up with my friend and say that mummy had to go now or she'd be late for work. I'd give her a hug and kiss then spawn happily went into the playground with my friend and hers and that was the end of it. After about a month of that I tried taking her in myself again and she was fine after that, we never had another problem.

It's probably because it's all new to her and she's feeling a bit overwhelmed so obviously she's going to cling to mummy but you're right, it's awful for her and you. Has she made any friends yet in her class? If she has you could maybe gravitate towards them if they're in the playground when you arrive, introduce yourself to the parent and make a thing about asking the children if there's anything they're looking forward to doing in school today, is there an assembly, did they do anything exciting yesterday etc., just silly banal questions to take Dannii's mind off her anxiety.

I used to say it was because I was too good a mum so she'd rather stay with me! :D
 
Why has @Tisch just followed me? Has he finally got round to finding that feature?

I'm not complaining, just sad it took him so long.

Bless you. Yes 50 now and feel every inch of it with jet lag. Back in Scotland for a few days to see my daughter before heading back home. Will be my last time here in Scotland now until Christmas. I have so many people to catch up with when I get back home. My mother is over the moon that we can now go out for lunch and drinks rather than our usual daily FaceTime. Nice to go home after over 30 years.
