Good morning Moopiez - how are we doing on this gap day between things?

I didn’t want to wait for the time zones to catch up to post a daily thread, I’ve been patient enough watching Avatar 2 (it were alreet)

Good morning 🌞 I'm up early as I couldn't sleep, I tried to leave bed quietly without being disruptive but it didn't work :bruised: I think it's okay though.

I'm going to work today. I don't know why I thought that was a good idea, but I'm hopeful there will be a few people around wanting fudge.

We're only open for 5 more days then we have a month off!

Morning! Back in the office. I actually prefer working during the "Merryneum" - when I worked for a company that closed for Xmas and New Year, I was just bored.

I'm getting depressed thinking I only have a week left off.

Still off of work this week.

Woke up at 6.30 after going to bed at 01.00 regardless. Lovely.

I was meant to be taking my two great nieces to a production of Belle And Sebastien today, but had an email yesterday saying it was cancelled due to cast illness.

Every other children's show has either sold out or we've seen it. And there's fuck all on at the cinema for younger kids other than Matilda, which we've already seen.

Is it too early to take the the down at home? I could do with the space.

I usually do mine around this time. Feels good to get everything back nice and clean.

It's a bit miserable if you have children though, isn't it?

I dunno, they've been up a month already in our house. Think I can get away with it by telling them the extra space will be good for playing with their new toys

We've decided ours are coming down tomorrow. I did vote for today but this cold is putting me off and I'm hoping Mr Sheena will take pity and just get up tomorrow and sort it all out.

We were always Twelfth Nighters growing up, and that has always stuck with me. But then Mum and Dad never decorated until two weekends before Christmas in the first place.

I do think it's nice still to have something up for NYE though.

I hate it being up for NYE and especially afterwards. I much prefer to start the new year with a clean, fresh house and everything back to normal for going back to work.

Weve only really got a tree up, and it’ll come down tomorrow so were back to normal when we come back from holiday

That said were having a party tonight so thats very dependent on how wild it gets

We always had family parties on NYE. It felt more festive.

I agree with getting them down after though. They really are just MESS by New Year's Day.

I haven't put decorations up for years. I put lights up most years until about 6-7 years ago but...well, not this year. Plus, I'd painted the wall they would go up on in September.

Just removed about 60% of the Xmas food from the house. Some food bank user better enjoy the calories.

I thought I was really good this year at not buying loads of shit other than a massive cheeseboard, but an inventory just now has made me realise we have SO MUCH FUCKING SHIT TO USE.

I think not eating meat, I always forget that at least five days' worth of meals are taken up using things leftover from the main lunch.

My next-door neighbours have been arguing on and off since Christmas Day. It's no surprise really, the wife could start an argument in an empty room, but they row for a bit then it goes quiet for a couple of hours then kicks off again. Once he's filled himself with beer in the evening it starts up with a vengeance again. He started kicking the door at 1.15am this morning which continued with intermittent insults, shouting and a lot more door slamming, kicking and banging until gone 4am.

Just get a divorce FFS.

I'm happy to go to the new year with what we've got. Although all that's left now from the pre Christmas shop is a huge side of salmon in the freezer (we'll have that NYE), and then a few boxes of party food which will get eaten in the next day or two.

But then there's all the chocolate and sweets we received as well :D

I have a list of Moopers on my invite list, because it would be odd not to, but I don't want it to be a thing or keep it secret.

That's not happening! Probably something low key with my mates, that will end up with cocaine.
