This isn’t meant to depress anyone, as I fully expect everyone’s answer is NOTHING, so sorry if it does but...

I’m hoping for a bit of inspiration to be honest, how are you planning to celebrate New Year’s Eve this year? Will you?

I’d thought about booking a spa or a hotel just to not be at home for a night but even that doesn’t really seem feasible now.

in reality I think we will team up with a friend couple who have also recently had covid, so it'll be a safe bubble in that regard

I haven't got many requirements in terms of food other than caviar

12 hours will probably be spent listening to the ESC250 countdown which finishes at 10pm so by midnight I'll probably either be asleep or too drunk to care about anything

Working in the day. The company directors usually send everyone home at lunch time on Christmas Eve and NYE but since we’re already home I don’t know if they will - I fully expect them to just forget to do it.

Is there anything good on TV? :bruised:

Bed, probably. I'm on the early shift and will likely be pooped.

Assuming it’s still tier 3 hell, let’s do something on here please - maybe a one night ASFM?

There is a best of ASFM happening a few days before. Maybe something that needs a little less structure, such a communal playlist of some kind where people who will be around nominate a few songs and we build up a collective Hogmanay playlist?

Yeah agree the stress of running something like ASFM on NYE is not the one but would be nice to have something happening, there are a fair few on here who live alone and it’d be nice to bring everyone together.

UGH. Honestly hoping someone quietly invites us over otherwise it will be just another night on my sofa. :manson:

At least there won't be a Jools Holland Hootenany. That's some comfort for us all, surely.

I was wondering about that. Are we SURE he hasn’t done a socially distanced one?

I literally haven’t even thought about New Year. Hopefully I just get a few decent games over Christmas so I can spend the evening playing them. What a waste to have it at the weekend when we can’t even go out.

Tough chickens.

Joining Jools and his orchestra in the studio this year are Celeste, Sir Tom Jones, Michael Kiwanuka, Roisin Murphy, Rag'n'Bone Man, Rick Wakeman, Ruby Turner and the Pipes and Drums of the 1st Batallion Scots Guards.

WHAT?

I mean, there are so many of the usual suspects there that it *could* be a repeat but Celeste is a bit too new for that.

IS THERE NO RELIEF FROM THIS HELL????????

An NYE Moopy playlist is a nice plan. Not sure how group construction of playlist would pan out, but it's totally possible.

I'll probably be busy but happy to help.
