I think I've found the ULTIMATE PIECE of DISCO RUBBISH

Fuck me, did Tom do a whole disco OPUS? This stuff is the stuff dreams (NIGHTMARES) are made of :disco:

Songpop introduced me to this little piece of disco majesty. I might need to investigate further :

Seeing as ameraal mentioned 'NON JE NE REGRETTE RIEN' in the SAINT ETIENNE thread, here's a VAGUELY RELATED ARTIFACT

I do like the DISCO ASTRUD. :disco:

It features on this collection with a whole lot more loungey disco fromage (possibly a bit much in one sitting, truth be told):

Also the Karen Young album is getting the BBR reissue treatment if you fancy more of her delicate vocal stylings on a shiny disc.

DISCO VIOLIN? *check*
WOMAN MOANING ORGASMICALLY IN A COMEDY EURO ACCENT? *check*
WAH WAH GUITAR? *check*

:disco:

Anyone know if this is worth a bash? Lots of people have been talking about it on various reissue groups on facebook but I JUST DON'T KNOW

What have LES FRENCHIES done to my poor RAFFAELLA?

I haven't seen it cheap enough to tempt me yet. These reissues unfortunately seem to hold their price more than a couple of years back.

I am currently listening to PATTI LABELLE and a FUNKY STEEL BAND murdering The Drifters' 'Save The Last Dance For Me' :gross:

Just be thankful it's so BAD that no one has uploaded it to YOUTUBE

I watched 20 Feet from Stardom with my parents last week and it inspired me to do a bit of digging into the featured artists. Wasn't Tata Vega quite the hoofer back in the day?

TATA is just TOTALLY TATA and you'd expect nothing less from the woman who brought us GET IT UP FOR LOVE

Meanwhile, nothing says TUESDAY like a DISCO VERSION of YOU KEEP ME HANGIN' ON in ITALIAN

EAT YOUR HEART OUT KIMMY WILDE

I just knew that DAPHNE and CELESTE didn't have an ORIGINAL IDEA IN THEIR HEADS

MASH-UPS? IT'S ALL BEEN DONE BEFORE

I can't find where we were talking about VIOLA WILLS and whether she did anything worthwhile apart from that one album

Anyway here's Exhibit B

It's so dire I had to upload it to youtube MYSELF. There's DISCO DISASTER DEDICATION FOR YOU

OT: Don't we have a "random disco songs" thread? I've found something I'm OBSESSED with but it doesn't fit in here and I can't for the LIFE of me find a thread...

I'm still hoping the Disco Jerusalem surfaces online. I have never found it anywhere except my godmothers record collection and hopefully it remains someone in my parents house.

Hopefully when I get a record players I can share with the world.

OH GO ON THEN, IT REALLY HAS BEEN THAT KIND OF DAY
