Good morning my darlings.

My lazy weekend ended up with my daughter coming over to stay last night as she has fell out with her other half. Nothing major, and sounds like they are just spending all their time together since moving in together so need a bit of a break for a few days.

I also watched a YouTube clip of Kathy Najimy and Whoopi Goldberg on The View and it doesn’t seem like Kathy has been asked to appear in Sister Act 3 which really troubled me this morning.
 
I don’t know who the fella talking over it all is but POOR KATHY.

 
I’ve had a lovely long weekend and am currently sat in WETHERBY SERVICES :disco:

That’s a shame. She was the funniest character in the first two movies.

Whoopi has said she is desperate to get Maggie Smith in the movie because ‘it wouldn’t be the same without her’ - so that must sting even more for Kathy.
 
I didn’t get up until midday today which is unheard of for me these days but I didn’t even wake up until then.

My afternoon will consist of studying. My Open Uni module starts in 2 weeks and I need to do some revision.

I don’t understand why they wouldn’t have Kathy in the new one? Her, Maggie and Wendy are about the only nuns still alive from the previous films so I would have assumed Kathy and Wendy would have been a given. I don’t know if Maggie would be up for it to be honest due to age, although she did do Downton last year.
 
I don't very often like a roast, but had a craving for one and couldn’t be arsed to go out shopping and with all the prep. Managed to sneak in for one at 12 o'clock. Got caught in a hailstorm on the way here, but by fuck it was worth it.
 
I am preparing a sirloin of beef for dinner as we speak. I do love cooking a big hearty meal on a Sunday when I am feeling fresh.
 
Anyway I did another one of my train-based puzzle quest things, at least I got my steps in and it didn’t rain. The friend who came with me on this one wasn’t THAT into it through so it feels like we were just on a long walk with some paperwork
 
Feeling super listless and frankly everything just feels bleak right now. Making soup and listening to History podcasts is about all I enjoy at the moment.

Applied for NHS online therapy. At least 28 days for them to review. Helpful.
 
Is it wrong that I am wishing the day away to 8pm when Call the Midwife and Happy Valley start? :disco:
 
Hi Moopy

We're in the shop painting and cleaning up after the workmen. Workmen are messy.

Listening to Backstreet Boys and Miley Cyrus are helping tho. I never knew how many songs I liked of Miley's.

Happy Valley is on at 9pm. I’m not too sure about Vera, as I still haven’t watched a single episode. :o

I only started watching Vera a couple of series ago, but have seen a lot of the older ones on ITV3 since. I've never watched Happy Valley. I've been told I won't like it.

Who told you that? Sarah Lancashire plays the most fantastic part in it, and I would probably say it is my favourite tv drama I can remember. The first season especially is absolute event television.

Mr L. He probably thinks I'm too sensitive for it. Is it particularly violent or tense? If it's tense, 'you won't like it' probably means 'I want to watch it on my own as you'll irritate me if we watch it together'.

It can be very tense, and it does also have some violent scenes in it but the acting and base story is just fantastic. Sarah Lancashire really excels in it. Such an amazing character.
 
It is on a par with most BBC/ITV gritty dramas. It doesn’t teeter in to the realms of Gangs of London.

No, didn't watch either of them either. 'Gritty' is a word which sets off alarm bells for me. I quite enjoy a procedural drama, but I don't need to see the action which triggers it.

I've still not got over Spooks when Lisa Faulkner was pushed head first into the deep fat fryer. That still gives me nightmares, two decades on.

That does sound grim. I never caught that one and don’t want to either. :zombie: I watched Gangs of London with my other half, mostly behind my hands when cuddled in him as by god that is DISGUSTING.
 
We watched a movie the other day, All Quiet on the Western Front about WW1 and that was far too gruesome for me. I no longer enjoy too much blood and gore.

We've just started watching, from series 1, for the first time ever, Silent Witness. It's really good.
