I woke up this Thursday and chose TINA TURNER

Marvelling last night about how it was Heaven 17 that relaunched Tina Turner's career. Can you imagine if they'd got her to sing Temptation...?
 
Am I the only person that gets a bit turned off when someone is known by a nickname or abbreviation? I don't mean like Anthony being called Tony or anything like that but we have a new colleague called "Dunky" (Duncan) and I'm not into it.

I have a colleague called Claire and she’s known as Welly.

Is 'Dunky' a six year old child? If not, that nickname is wholly unacceptable.

Don’t come to Liverpool :D we’re incapable of calling people by their full names. We see it as formal and serious. You do it when you don’t like them. Otherwise it’s like being spoken to by your mum

I've just emailed Age UK to see about becoming a Neighbour Friend for some of the older, lonely people on the island, but I'm worried because I can't commit to set days that they won't want me :(

What an absolutely GLORIOUS DAY it has been here. I have been lying in nothing but a bikini and a sun hat all day basking in the sunshine and am now making some ICED MOJITOS for me and my daughter to have this evening whilst her other half sweats over the BBQ.

Just tell the old people that it's the same day of the week whenever you're in. They'll never know any different.
