I like “Music” well enough but it is a tad played out... “Get Outta My Way” is fab and was paid dust back in 2010.

From one ICON of the URBAN MUSIC scene to ANOTHER - I refuse to even put the question of whether this is a glow-up to Moopy, because the jokes write themselves here. Fight For This Love received 14 swap-out votes; He Wasn't Man Enough received 15 swap-in votes.

I'm sure some will shed a tear for Cherly's 11th-hour exit from the competition, but He Wasn't Man Enough really is one of THE great turn-of-the-century bangers and I'm quite excited about aggressively squaring it off against something similarly SEMINAL in the next round.

what a video as well... every '00s R&B video trope CHECKED OFF and thrown to the mercy of a wind machine! :disco:

now this one I'm sad about - much love to Aaliyah, of course, but I don't necessarily feel this is an upgrade. then again, I think All For You is higher in my pantheon of Janet classics than for most, so whatever - at least we've gained another stone cold classic.

All For You received 15 swap-out votes; More Than a Woman received 17 swap-in votes. are we generally pleased with this one?
 
More than a Woman is exquisite.

Music is well above Get Outta My Way, but Gaga's fantasy comeback song for Ace of Base too hefty to dislodge.

Toni Braxton's final founcing on the hit parade is criminally underrated.

for a minor gay classic with just 4m views on Youtube and largely forgotten even by a public who sent it to #3, Call The Shots has certainly endured in the hearts of Moopy, and for a long time was the runaway leader here - it ultimately picked up 22 swap-in votes, in second place, and it takes out Alicia's stunning debut single, which received 17 exit votes. Fallin' is a work of art, but doing this contest at this stage wouldn't have felt right without one of the British pop classics of the '00s; @monsta found spinning his Tangled Up vinyl in his beautiful living room.

well we definitely saved the most satisfying for last with this one - OUT goes Nicki's first global smash, which feels like it falls too much on the wrong side of novelty these days (with 18 votes), and IN comes one of the first great songs of the new millennium, on a runaway 24 votes. the reason Pure Shores wasn't in the competition to begin with is basically that your host is rubbish and forgot all about it, but then along came this twist nobody asked for and with a shot at redemption. :disco:
