Behind the looking glass resurrection: Girls Aloud - The Loving Kind

Freak Like Me is just so menacing, 2 Queens of the Street and a girl they held at pencil point when she shouted security at them in New Look. Otherwise, The Loving Kind is a thing of shimmering beauty, albeit lyrically unlikely (as if any of them have ever said "inclined" in a sentence let alone "disinclined"). Even though they do sing wine, there's a certain detachment to the Blue WKD pathos that is kind of beyond them (which is probably why Nicola hates it). What a conundrum I've just had!

This round was super-tight - until the final set of votes there were three ties. Cassie was comfortably ahead of Brandy for at least ten votes but ended up narrowly missing out; Girls Aloud caught up with Sugababes several times but couldn't make the finish line; and Ariana was constantly neck and neck with Alexis Jordan (!) but you, the people, voted for happiness over dry eyes in the end.

Taylor narrowly lost out by one vote to Lana, and P!nk took less than a quarter of the vote with what is often considered her best-enduring single.
