INFINITE SUNDAY (1 Viewer)

I'm cold and pissed off.

Decided to be pro-Moop and ordered some stuff from Amazon - Xmas pressies for my neice and nephew in Glasgow, mostly (and one thing for a grown-up). They're giving me a delivery estimate of 4:45pm - 7:45pm. On a Sunday. I mean, that's not happening, is it?

Oh it will. Amazon might be evil, but I've had stuff arrive in the evening after ordering in the morning. And totally on a Sunday.

Fair dos. I haven't used anything other than the Marketplace for years so I'm not used to their own delivery service.
 
Amazon have better infrastructure than many countries when it comes to this stuff - very convenient but also a bit scary :eyes:

I have read a few things about the expectation they've created in people; I know record labels who've had complaints about P&P as well as how "long" it took for something to arrive - a few days seems to be considered a problem for people who are used to next day or even same day from Amazon.

I will only buy things from Amazon that are on Prime nowadays, I've had deliveries at 10pm from them. I'm not waiting five days for something to arrive and I'm certainly not paying postage for the privilege of waiting! The only think I order (not from Amazon) that has a delivery charge is the dog's ear medication but that's because it has to be a temperature-controlled delivery so I have to pay for next day UPS plus £1 extra for the ice-packs and insulation.
 
My brother uses Prime and he finds they're around there faster than the emergency services. He must live near a depot.

There's an Amazon warehouse one exit up the M61 from me. AO is three exits up so I'm always one of the first deliveries from both of them. I once ordered something same day from Argos and it was here within an hour, it'd have taken me longer than that to drive to Argos in town, park up to collect it and drive home again.
 
Everything came from Romford until recently. I think one must have opened in Ipswich, which is quite a bit nearer. I ordered a bag for Mr Ag at about midnight Thursday and had it by midday Friday.
 
Just tried Richmonds vegan sausages. VERY GOOD, first ones I've come across that are actually sausage like... I'd be hard pressed to know they weren't meat.
 
I hate my silly left earhole. I've always had a problem with in-ear earbud type earphones because they're usually too big for my left earhole so I mostly use Sony ones with the band that goes round the back of my head but it's getting increasingly difficult to source new ones as the years have gone by. So I got myself a pair of those bluetooth generic earphones that look like air-pods and I tried them in my ears and they seemed to fit with a bit of fettling to the left one. Went out to clear the garden so I connected them to my phone, switched on the music and put them in my ears. The only way I can hear music through the left one is to put sellotape over my ear to hold it in place, the fettling that I have to do to keep it in means that the hole where the sound comes out of is blocked by some part of my inside ear. It's completely ridiculous! :D

They taste just like Richmond sausages to be honest
 
In HOT VEGETARIAN CHAT I just had a Morrisons Nut Roast with three cheese melting centre. It was excellent and the best nut roast I have EVER had.

HULME COMMUNITY GARDEN CENTRE HAD SOLD OUT OF VEGAN WASHING LIQUID SO I POPPED INTO THE ASDA IN HULME TO SEE IF THEY HAD ANY.

I HAVE BEEN TO GAY SAINSBURY’S TO PICK UP THE BITS I NEED FOR MY VEGAN SAUSAGE CASSEROLE.

I made a beef and Guinness stew for Sunday dinner today followed by a treacle sponge for dessert. It was quite the TRIUMPH. I am going to try the apple pie baileys shortly just to wash it all down whilst I lie sparkled on the sofa.

I don’t live in a city. The closest cities to me are Perth or Stirling. I stay around 2 miles from a small town called Auchterarder, which is famous for Gleneagles Hotel.
