But yes, flicking through the server log it looks like whatever happened was due to significant overload in our server due to a swarm of guests from... somewhere.

Perhaps so. From the above I see that one admin is on holiday (but still responded) and the other responded as soon as they could. All within 24 hours of the issue being flagged.

I'm not saying they're always so efficient with every issue, but in this case I think it's a fair response. But that's just my opinion!
